The Apothecary Diaries Anime Releases Yulan Magnolia Seasonal Art

The official X account for The Apothecary Diaries anime has released a new seasonal visual featuring the characters Lakan and Lahan smiling among blooming Yulan magnolia flowers.

The series continues to build anticipation for its upcoming third season and an original film following the success of the first two seasons of the anime.

This latest update follows the release of a giant butterbur seasonal visual featuring Maomao and Luomen on February 22, 2026.

Directed by Norihiko Naganuma at TOHO animation STUDIO and OLM, the project is based on the light novels written by Natsu Hyuuga and illustrated by Touko Shino.

The story follows Maomao, an apothecary who is sold into service at the emperor’s palace, where she uses her medical knowledge to solve complex mysteries.

Naganuma also serves as the series composer, while Akinori Fudesaka acts as the assistant director for the production.

The original source material was first published as a web novel in October 2011 before being acquired by Shufunotomo for print publication.

Crunchyroll continues to stream the anime series, which has gained significant popularity for its blend of mystery and imperial palace intrigue.

The franchise has expanded to include multiple manga adaptations, including a version by Nekokurage that debuted on May 25, 2017, and an alternative version by Minoji Kurata that began on August 19, 2017.

Square Enix recently began releasing the light novels in print starting on May 14, 2024, to cater to the growing international fanbase.
