Monster Hunter Wilds’ Gogmazios Officially Launches Capcom’s Massive New XL Figure Line

The “Capcom Figure Builder Creators Model XL Gogmazios” measures approximately 43cm tall, 45cm wide and 31cm deep, with the larger scale allowing Capcom to recreate the monster’s huge proportions and dense surface detail more faithfully than a conventional-sized figure would allow.

“Creators Model XL” is a new branch of Capcom’s long-running Figure Builder range designed specifically around large and ultra-large monsters, with both the manufacturing process and finished size being adapted to better represent their scale.

Gogmazios is a fitting choice to introduce the concept, with the Elder Dragon known for its enormous body, wings and the thick black substance covering much of its surface.

Originally encountered in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Gogmazios returned to the series through Monster Hunter Wilds’ fourth major title update, where hunters can face it with a larger group made up of players and Support Hunters.

Its appearance is immediately recognizable through the sticky black liquid covering its body and the huge ancient weapon lodged into its back, while the monster’s ability to take flight despite its immense size makes it one of the series’ more imposing Elder Dragons.

Capcom has recreated those details across the new figure using a large soft-vinyl construction, with especially dense sculpting used across the body, wings, and rough surface textures.

Much of the finish is then applied by hand, allowing the sculpt to reproduce the biological texture of Gogmazios’ skin alongside the oily coating spread across its body.
Rust-colored weathering has also been added around appropriate areas of the sculpt, while the chest uses red-hot coloring to recreate the heated appearance associated with the monster during battle.

Rather than simply scaling up an existing Creators Model concept, the XL series has been developed around monsters whose size is an important part of their appearance, with Gogmazios establishing what collectors can expect from the new range.
Monster Hunter has already received several other collectible releases this year, including Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds Palico mini-figure collection featuring feline companions wearing armor based on different monsters.

The franchise has also moved beyond traditional collectibles through its new collaboration with NANGA, which includes a wearable Palico sleeping bag and a down jacket inspired by Furious Rajang.
