Pokémon Announces New 30th Anniversary Promo Card Giveaway Featuring 3 Exclusive Cards
The Pokémon Company has unveiled three new promotional Pokémon Trading Card Game cards featuring Kyogre, Groudon, and Giratina, with all three Legendary Pokémon receiving special 30th anniversary editions for an upcoming retailer giveaway.
The cards feature the commemorative “Pokémon 30 / What’s Your Favorite?” logo and will be distributed alongside the new “Mega Evolution – Delta Reign” expansion, with each Pokémon available from a different selection of stores.
First released in Japan in 1996, the Pokémon Trading Card Game has grown into one of the world’s most popular collectible card games, featuring thousands of cards inspired by Pokémon from across the franchise’s video games, anime and wider universe.
Kyogre and Groudon originally appeared in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, representing the opposing forces of the ocean and land in the Hoenn region, with Giratina later introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl before becoming the mascot of Pokémon Platinum.
The three Legendary Pokémon will be featured in the upcoming “Mega Evolution – Delta Reign” expansion, which also marks the long-awaited return of Mega Rayquaza ex to the international Pokémon TCG for the first time since the XY – Ancient Origins expansion.
Mega Rayquaza previously headlined Japan’s “Storm Emerald” expansion in July 2026, with cards from the Japanese release also appearing in the new international set.
“Delta Reign” will introduce more than 135 cards, including new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and Legendary Stadium cards, which allow players to combine two Stadium cards to create a single battlefield effect.
The new Kyogre, Groudon and Giratina cards also continue Pokémon’s wider 30th anniversary celebrations, following the special Mewtwo promotional card released alongside “30th Celebration” in October.
Like the earlier Mewtwo release, each of the three Legendary Pokémon cards carries the anniversary logo rather than the standard expansion or retailer branding, separating them from the regular versions found in booster packs.
Kyogre will also receive a separate full-art foil promotional card inside the “Delta Reign” Elite Trainer Box, giving collectors another version of the Legendary Pokémon to look out for when the expansion launches.
The new giveaway will cover the United States, Canada, and Australia, although the three cards will be available through different retailers rather than being distributed together.

Available in the United States through Hot Topic, Barnes & Noble, Five Below, and Macy’s.
- Groudon
Available at GameStop in the United States and EB Games in Canada and Australia.
- Giratina
Available at Best Buy in the United States, as well as Toymate and Mr Toys in Australia.
All three cards can therefore be collected in the United States, although fans hoping to complete the set will need to purchase eligible Pokémon TCG products from several different stores.
The promotion will begin on November 6, 2026, alongside the official release of “Mega Evolution – Delta Reign”, with customers receiving one promotional card when spending at least $15 on Pokémon TCG products through the listed retailers.
The offer will be available both in stores and online while supplies last, with further details available through The Pokémon Company’s official announcement.
