Pokémon TCG Announces New Storm Emerald Expansion Starring Mega Rayquaza

The Pokémon Company has announced a major summer initiative centered around Mega Rayquaza, bringing new content to both the physical Pokémon Trading Card Game MEGA and the digital Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket experience.
The powerful Dragon and Flying-type Pokémon will headline a variety of upcoming releases and promotional activities designed to engage fans across multiple platforms.

As part of the announcement, new expansion sets have been confirmed for both trading card games, each placing Mega Rayquaza in the spotlight.
For players of the physical Pokémon Trading Card Game MEGA, the upcoming expansion “Storm Emerald” will introduce new cards and content inspired by Mega Rayquaza and its legendary presence.

Meanwhile, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will receive its own Mega Rayquaza-focused expansion titled “Ruler of the Skies,” bringing the iconic Pokémon to the mobile card game experience.

The new releases form part of a wider seasonal celebration that aims to highlight one of the franchise’s most popular Legendary Pokémon across a variety of activities and promotions.
In addition to the card expansions, The Pokémon Company has confirmed a special campaign called “Soaring Mega Rayquaza,” which will allow fans to encounter Mega Rayquaza through a number of different events and experiences taking place throughout the summer.

A total of seven separate activities have been planned as part of the campaign, with the newly announced expansion packs serving as key components of the broader initiative.

The “Ruler of the Skies” expansion for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is scheduled to launch on July 30, while the “Storm Emerald” expansion for Pokémon Trading Card Game MEGA will follow on July 31.
Cards from the “Storm Emerald” expansion will be included in the “Delta Reign” expansion for the international version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, which will launch on November 9, 2026.
