Aerith, Zidane and Squall Star In Final Fantasy’s New Official Pixel Art Room Light Collection
Image by Charlotte DavisSquare Enix is turning three of Final Fantasy’s most popular heroes into new pixel art room lights, with Aerith Gainsborough, Squall Leonhart and Zidane Tribal forming the first newly revealed Pixelight NEO lineup.
The three “Final Fantasy Series Pixelight NEO FFRK” lights recreate the characters using their pixel designs from Final Fantasy Record Keeper, giving each one the appearance of stepping directly out of the mobile RPG’s battle screen.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper originally launched in 2014 and brings characters, locations and battles from across the wider Final Fantasy series together using retro-style pixel artwork, with the Japanese version continuing to operate after international service ended in 2022.

Square Enix has also continued to use pixel art across Final Fantasy merchandise, including a Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection released earlier in 2026 featuring classic 2D character sprites across stationery and everyday accessories.

Pixelight NEO upgrades Square Enix’s existing Pixelight room-light range with two new functions designed to make the displays easier to use around a room.

A button now switches between constant illumination, a motion-sensor mode, and off, with the sensor automatically lighting the character whenever movement is detected nearby.

The lights can also now be powered using a USB Type-C cable instead of relying entirely on batteries, although both the cable and three required AAA batteries are sold separately.

Aerith is recreated in her Final Fantasy Record Keeper pixel design, with the completed light measuring approximately 6.5 × 3.1 × 9.7 cm.

Squall is represented with his pixel-art Gunblade at his side, with his Final Fantasy VIII-inspired display measuring approximately 6.2 × 3.1 × 10.2 cm.

Zidane completes the trio in his Final Fantasy IX Record Keeper design, with the light measuring approximately 6.6 × 3.1 × 10.2 cm.

All three Pixelight NEO displays use LEDs and share the same three operating modes, allowing them to remain permanently illuminated or switch on automatically when someone approaches.

The characters have also featured prominently across Square Enix’s wider Final Fantasy merchandise, including a 1/4-scale Masterline statue of Aerith based on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, while Aerith and Squall both appear in artwork selected for the series’ official 40th anniversary calendar collection.

Final Fantasy IX has also received a substantial wave of anniversary merchandise, including a large Square Enix collection of bags, stationery, glassware and other items featuring Zidane and the wider cast.

Pre-orders for the new “Final Fantasy Series Pixelight NEO FFRK” collection, priced at ¥5,280 each (approximately $33 / £25), are now open through the Japanese Square Enix e-STORE ahead of their release on April 17, 2027.
