Steins;Gate 15th Anniversary Project Begins as Huge Akihabara Exhibition Announced

KADOKAWA has announced a massive new project to celebrate a major milestone for the Steins;Gate franchise.
The brand-new 15th-anniversary project aims to honor the incredible legacy of the time-travel series.

Steins;Gate originally launched as a popular adventure game in 2009, serving as the second installment in the overarching “Science Adventure” series.
The television anime adaptation later premiered to critical acclaim and is now officially celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2026.

The story follows a university student named Rintaro Okabe who still exhibits strong eighth-grader syndrome tendencies.
Okabe accidentally invents a unique device capable of sending text messages into the past.
This discovery quickly triggers a grand time-leap drama that forces Okabe to make difficult choices to prevent a global catastrophe.

Viewers across the globe quickly fell in love with the complex science fiction elements and the deeply emotional character arcs.
To kick off the anniversary celebration, the production team revealed a brand-new commemorative visual on April 5.
This striking new artwork features the main cast of characters, affectionately known as the “Lab Members,” happily reunited once again.
Fans will easily recognize iconic characters such as Rintaro Okabe, Mayuri Shiina, Itaru Hashida, and Kurisu Makise prominently displayed in the illustration.
Other fan-favorite members like Moeka Kiryu, Luka Urushibara, Faris NyanNyan, and Suzuha Amane are also included in the celebratory artwork.

Alongside the visual, KADOKAWA confirmed that a large-scale exhibition will be held to mark the 15-year anime milestone.
This special event is scheduled to take place this July in Akihabara, the famous Tokyo electronics district that serves as the central setting for the sci-fi series.
KADOKAWA plans to reveal further details regarding the exhibition at a later date via the official 15th anniversary website.
