Japanese Convenience Store Lawson Unveils Its First Official VTuber Ahead of Debut
The rapid growth of the VTuber industry continues to attract attention from companies and professionals across a wide range of fields, with new projects regularly emerging to capitalize on the format’s popularity.
One of the latest organizations to join the virtual entertainment space is LawsonTicketXone, the esports team operated under Lawson Entertainment, a subsidiary of the Japanese convenience store chain Lawson.
The organization has officially established its own VTuber division and announced the debut of its first virtual talent, Shirahoshi Mizuki.
Her first official livestream appearance is scheduled to take place on June 13, marking the beginning of the division’s activities.
While Lawson’s involvement has generated considerable interest, Shirahoshi Mizuki is not being introduced as a mascot or representative for the retailer’s convenience store business.
Instead, she will serve as a member of the LawsonTicketXone esports organization, meaning her content is expected to have strong ties to competitive gaming and esports-related topics.
Another major point of attention surrounding the project is the individual responsible for the character’s visual design.
Shirahoshi Mizuki was created by Fujima Takuya, a well-known manga artist and illustrator with an extensive portfolio spanning multiple entertainment media.
Fujima is recognized for manga works such as “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid” and “Negima!? neo”, while also contributing illustrations to the light novel series Warlords of Sigrdrifa and producing artwork for numerous trading card game projects.
