Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven launches on Switch 2 with major update

The full 3D remake of the classic role-playing game, Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, has now been released for the Nintendo Switch 2.
The launch of this new version coincides with the release of the major Version 1.1.0 update for all existing platforms.

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, which first launched for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC in October of 2024, is a ground-up remake of the original 1993 Super Famicom title.

The new Version 1.1.0 patch introduces a wide range of balance adjustments, quality-of-life improvements, and new content to the game.
An option has been added to use the original soundtrack version for the Dread Queen battle music.

The update also includes a number of balance changes, with buffs to some abilities and gear, and nerfs to the abilities “Penny Pincher” and “United Ravager.”

A significant number of quality-of-life improvements have been implemented based on player feedback.
These include the ability to view the current imperial year from the menu, a new formations icon on the battle screen, faster ship travel, and a toggle for motion blur.

Platforming sections in areas like Mt. Chikapa have also been adjusted to be easier to navigate.
The new “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” of the game is now available for purchase.
For players who already own the original Switch version of the game, an “Upgrade Pack” is available for purchase, which will upgrade their copy to the new Switch 2 Edition.
The new update and the Switch 2 version provide both new and existing players with an enhanced and refined version of the classic RPG.
Alongside the release of this game, Square Enix has revealed two new games, The Adventures of Elliot and Octopath Traveller 0.

They have also revealed more details about the Dragon Quest I+II remake, including a new playable character.
