RG 1/144 Wing Gundam Zero Arrives Back in Stock at P-Bandai US

The RG 1/144 Wing Gundam Zero is back in stock at Premium Bandai US, bringing the television anime version of the iconic Gundam Wing mobile suit back for builders who missed its previous availability.

Wing Gundam Zero was conceived by the five scientists responsible for the series’ original Gundams and is most closely associated with Heero Yuy, who eventually mastered both the machine and its dangerous ZERO System.

The mobile suit combines overwhelming speed and firepower with the Twin Buster Rifle, two Beam Sabers, machine cannons, and a shield that becomes an essential part of its transformed flight configuration.

Bandai has recreated that complete silhouette with the layered armor, extensive part separation, mechanical surface detailing, and multiple shades of its main colors expected from a modern Real Grade kit.

The most elaborate engineering is concentrated within the two wing binders, which play a central role in both the mobile suit’s appearance and its ability to transform.

Each wing binder uses five separate points of articulation, allowing the wings to spread outward, angle behind the body, fold into a more compact position, or be adjusted independently around an airborne pose.

The vernier assembly inside each binder includes an interconnected movement system that rotates the unit, extends the internal nozzle, and deploys the surrounding fins at the same time.

This gives the wings far more mechanical movement than a simple hinged connection and allows the rear of the model to change noticeably between neutral, high-speed, and full-thrust displays.

The shoulder armor can also open to expose additional vernier details, while the two Beam Sabers can be stored inside the shoulders when they are not being used.

Both Beam Sabers include translucent effect parts and can be held individually for close-combat poses or displayed together for a more aggressive stance.

The cockpit hatch can be opened, while the covers over the chest intakes can be moved to expose additional internal detailing around the upper torso.

Wing Gundam Zero’s machine cannons are positioned above the chest intakes and can be deployed by opening their surrounding covers, allowing another of the mobile suit’s weapons to be displayed without replacing parts.

The hip structure uses two independently moving swing axes, giving the legs more freedom to move forward, backward, and outward during wide stances or airborne poses.

The waist can also be lowered to increase the available movement around the lower torso and hips, helping the model create deeper crouches and more natural firing positions.

Movement in the knees activates linked sections of the knee armor and the armor behind the shins, allowing these panels to separate as the legs bend rather than obstructing the joint.

This interconnected movement helps preserve the shape of the legs during action poses while also contributing to the mechanical appearance associated with the Real Grade range.

The kit can transform into Neo Bird Mode by rearranging its existing components, with the wing binders, shield, torso, arms, and legs repositioned to create Wing Gundam Zero’s high-speed flight configuration.

Transformation details extend to the ends of the legs, which include their own movement system to more closely reproduce the appearance of the Neo Bird Mode seen in the anime.

The shield forms the pointed nose of the transformed model and includes an extending central block that lengthens its profile for Neo Bird Mode.

Small wings on the shield move in conjunction with the extending nose section, adding another coordinated Real Grade mechanism to the transformation rather than relying on a static accessory.

Wing Gundam Zero’s signature Twin Buster Rifle is supplied as two separate weapons that can be used individually or joined together to create the combined firing configuration.

The combined weapon can be positioned across the chest for the mobile suit’s familiar full-power firing pose, while the separate rifles allow more flexible displays with one weapon held in each hand.

Bandai has added an original barrel-extension mechanism to both rifles, allowing the front sections to slide outward and give the weapons a longer and more powerful appearance during firing poses.

Locking connections within the weapon handles improve the grip between the rifles and the hands, helping the model support the combined Twin Buster Rifle without relying entirely on friction.

The articulation around the shoulders, waist, hips, and arms has been designed to support two-handed rifle poses, including the wide stance associated with Wing Gundam Zero’s most recognizable attacks.

Builders can also separate the Twin Buster Rifle and angle the wings behind the body to create more mobile aerial poses, making the kit suitable for displays beyond its standard combined firing position.

The included hand selection provides the options needed for holding the rifles and Beam Sabers alongside more neutral or expressive configurations.

A sheet of Realistic Decals adds warning markings and smaller surface details across the armor, wings, shield, and weapons for builders who want to increase the model’s visual density.
