Pre-orders open for high-end GHOST IN THE SHELL statue that recreates the film’s most iconic scene

High-end collectible manufacturer Prime 1 Studio has opened pre-orders for an enormous new statue that recreates the iconic final battle from the classic 1995 animated film, GHOST IN THE SHELL.
The new product is part of the company’s “Ultimate Premium Masterline” series, which is known for its massive, 1/4 scale polystone statues that feature an incredible level of detail.

Directed by Mamoru Oshii, the original GHOST IN THE SHELL is a landmark of the cyberpunk genre, a hugely influential film that explores the nature of humanity in a technologically advanced future.

This new statue is a massive, 1/4 scale diorama that captures the film’s climactic scene, where the protagonist, Major Motoko Kusanagi, engages in a desperate, physical battle with a rogue, spider-like “Arachnida” tank.

The sculpt is designed to capture the “slow-motion” moment of the fight where the Major’s powerful, prosthetic cyborg body is torn apart as she attempts to rip open the tank’s main hatch.

The piece is impressively sized, measuring 68 centimeters tall, 49 centimeters wide, and 80 centimeters deep, and it weighs over 25 kilograms.

The sculpt features a high level of detail, from the torn optical camouflage suit and exposed muscle fibers of the Major’s body to the bullet holes and glowing blue camera on the surface of the tank.

A special “Bonus Version” of the statue is also available, which is exclusive to the official Prime 1 Studio online store.

This version includes an extra set of manipulator arms for the tank, which depict it firing its Gatling gun, adding to the tension of the scene.

A separate, standalone statue of just Motoko Kusanagi from the diorama is also being sold, offering a smaller and more focused display piece.

The “Ultimate Premium Masterline – GHOST IN THE SHELL – Motoko Kusanagi VS Arachnida Bonus Version” is priced at ¥205,590 (approx. $1400 USD/£1031 GBP).

The standalone Motoko Kusanagi statue is priced at ¥94,490 (approx. $643 USD/£474 GBP).

Pre-orders for the new statues began on Thursday, the 28th of August, 2025.
They are scheduled to be shipped between January and April of 2027.
