Sold Out HG 1/144 Shadow Gundam Gets Official US Re-Release
Premium Bandai US has re-opened pre-orders for the exclusive HG 1/144 Shadow Gundam, bringing one of Mobile Fighter G Gundam’s most distinctive Mobile Fighters back to the High Grade Gunpla lineup.
Known as Gundam Spiegel in the Japanese version of the series, the ninja-inspired Mobile Fighter has been recreated with newly sculpted parts that faithfully capture its sleek silhouette and jet-black color scheme through carefully separated part construction.
The kit has been designed with the flexibility expected from the HG series, making it easy to recreate the fast-paced martial arts action and acrobatic poses that defined many of Shadow Gundam’s battles.
Its signature Spiegel Blades feature retractable handles and rotating blades, while interchangeable hand parts with movable wrists allow builders to display the Mobile Fighter in a variety of attack poses, including scenes where the Messer Glanz has just been thrown or is being held between its fingers.
Another standout feature is the inclusion of accessories based on an original “ver. A.N.I.M.E.” concept created by Mobile Fighter G Gundam general director Yasuhiro Imagawa, bringing an extra layer of authenticity to the model kit.
Five scroll accessories inspired by ninjutsu are included, each featuring kanji representing Fire Release, Water Release, Wind Release, Wood Release, and Earth Release alongside German text, allowing builders to recreate dramatic scenes unique to this version of the kit.
The scrolls are produced using paper that incorporates traditional washi material, allowing them to be unrolled like real scrolls, while a dedicated holder can be attached to the rear skirt armor to store them when not in use.
Joint parts are also included so the scrolls can be equipped around the waist, expanding the range of display possibilities even further.
The Core Lander can separate and combine with the Mobile Fighter, faithfully recreating another feature seen in the anime.
Bandai has also included a newly designed rotating display stand that makes it possible to recreate Shadow Gundam’s signature Sturm und Drang attack, complete with the twin Spiegel Blades extended as the Mobile Fighter spins through its high-speed finishing move.
The accessory lineup also includes two Spiegel Blades, a complete hand parts set with the Messer Glanz, the Core Lander, an action base set, the rotating stand, scroll parts, a scroll holder, and additional joint parts for display options.
The HG 1/144 Shadow Gundam is available to pre-order now through Premium Bandai US
for $42.00, with pre-orders scheduled to close on November 16, 2026, unless available allocations sell out sooner, ahead of its expected December 2026 release.
