Next “Pokémon Presents” confirmed for July 22nd
The Pokémon Company has officially announced the date and time for its next major information showcase, “Pokémon Presents.”
“Pokémon Presents” is the company’s primary format for delivering major news and updates directly to its global fanbase, similar in style to a Nintendo Direct.
These events typically feature a wide range of announcements covering various aspects of the massive media franchise.
While the specific contents of the upcoming broadcast have not been revealed, fan expectations are heavily focused on one title in particular.
It is widely assumed that the presentation will feature new information on the upcoming game, Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A.
Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A, set to take place in a re-imagined Lumiose City from the Kalos region, is the next installment in the LEGENDS sub-series, which began with the critically and commercially successful Pokémon LEGENDS: Arceus.
Based on the pattern of previous presentations, it is also likely that the showcase will include updates on mobile applications like Pokémon GO and Pokémon Sleep, the trading card game, and the ongoing animated series.
A teaser image was posted on the official Pokémon X account to accompany the announcement.
The image shows the franchise mascot, Pikachu, standing in front of what appears to be a DJ stage, with the comment, “It looks like Pikachu is preparing something…?”
This suggests a potential pre-show event or themed segment for the broadcast.
The announcement of the new showcase follows the recent reveal of exclusive Pokémon cards that will be given away with Happy Meals at McDonald’s Japan.
The digital presentation is scheduled to be broadcast on Tuesday, July 22nd, at 10:00 PM Japan Standard Time.
The official watch page on YouTube is scheduled to go live one hour before the main presentation, at 9:00 PM Japan Standard Time, which may be when this DJ Pikachu segment takes place.
The “Pokémon Presents” showcase will be streamed simultaneously on the official Pokémon YouTube channel, as well as on X, Instagram, and TikTok.
