New Osomatsu-san carbonated drinks set to launch this summer
Fans of the popular Japanese anime series “Osomatsu-san” will soon have a new way to enjoy their favorite sextuplets, thanks to a new non-alcoholic carbonated drink.
“Osomatsu-san FIZZ” is a gin and tonic flavour, non-alcoholic carbonated drink, and will get an advance release at 7-Eleven stores nationwide across Japan.
“Osomatsu-san” is a highly popular comedy anime television series produced by Studio Pierrot.
It is a modern adaptation of Fujio Akatsuka’s classic 1962 manga/anike series, “Osomatsu-kun.”
The original “Osomatsu-kun” followed the mischievous Matsuno sextuplets: Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Ichimatsu, Jyushimatsu, and Todomatsu.
The “Osomatsu-san” anime, celebrating Akatsuka’s 80th birthday, reimagines these brothers as adults in their twenties who are, to the dismay of their parents, perpetually unemployed, unmotivated, and living as NEETs.
The series gained a significant cult following due to its adult-oriented humor, self-referential jokes, and the distinct, often flawed, personalities of each brother.
The new “Osomatsu-san FIZZ” is a non-alcoholic carbonated drink crafted with a sophisticated gin and tonic flavor profile.
Its 0% alcohol content is a key feature, allowing fans to enjoy it without the constraints of traditional alcoholic beverages.
The product’s catchphrase, “We’re NEETs, but…why not try to feel a little more grown-up this summer?”, is a direct appeal to the series’ fanbase, many of whom appreciate the show’s subversive humor and relatable portrayal of characters who defy conventional societal expectations.
The advance release at 7-Eleven stores nationwide provides a chance for fans across Japan to purchase the new beverage prior to a wider release.
7-Eleven is one of the largest convenience store chains in Japan and is a popular destination for quick purchases, including snacks, drinks, and various collaboration goods.
Previous collaborations between 7-Eleven and other anime series have included Gundam and BLEACH.
“Osomatsu-san FIZZ” will be available to purchase at 7-Eleven stores across Japan from Monday, August 6th, 2025.
Pricing information has not yet been revealed, but is likely to be set by individual stores.
