The Quintessential Quintuplets Anime to Return With 2 New Projects

The hit romantic comedy series The Quintessential Quintuplets is continuing to expand its animated universe with the announcement of two brand new projects.
Following a fan event held in Tokyo on May 2, 2026, it was revealed that a new television series and a separate anime special are currently in production.

The upcoming television series will adapt “The Quintessential Quintuplets: Four Seasons” light novel, bringing the Nakano sisters’ daily lives during their final year of high school to the screen.

Alongside this, a brand new special is being produced to adapt previously unadapted chapters from the original manga, ensuring dedicated enthusiasts get to see more of their favorite moments fully animated.
While an announcement video and a commemorative visual were shared to celebrate the news, specific release dates and production staff for either project have not yet been confirmed.
This latest announcement follows the recent addition of two previous animated specials to the Crunchyroll streaming platform for international audiences.
The first of these releases, titled “The Quintessential Quintuplets∽”, was directed by Yukihiro Miyamoto at studio SHAFT, initially debuting in Japanese theaters in July 2023 before seeing a television broadcast later that year.

The second special, “The Quintessential Quintuplets*”, was directed by Masato Jinbo at Bibury Animation Studio and followed a similar theatrical and television rollout throughout late 2024.
Created by Negi Haruba, the original manga series ran in the pages of Weekly Shonen Magazine from August 2017 to February 2020, concluding its highly popular run with a total of 14 compiled volumes.
An English language version of the acclaimed romantic comedy is currently available in print and digital formats through Kodansha USA.
