A new short anime based on the hit anime series My Hero Academia is currently in production and preparing for a summer release.

The upcoming special, titled “I Am a Hero Too”, will adapt a unique bonus chapter drawn by original creator Kohei Horikoshi.

This specific story was originally featured as a one-shot manga within the My Hero Academia Fan Book: Ultra Age, which launched exactly one year ago.

The narrative will focus on the character Eri, depicting her life as a high school student years after the events of the main storyline.

Fans recently enjoyed the debut of another animated short titled “More”, which aired as episode 170+1 and is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.

Both of these special animated productions serve as part of a massive 10th anniversary project celebrating the enduring legacy of the superhero property.

The television anime officially concluded its incredible run when the final episode of its eighth season aired on December 13.

My Hero Academia

The original manga series, which crossed 100 million worldwide copies in April 2024, officially ended its ten-year serialization in August 2024.

The 42nd and final compiled book volume arrived in December 2024, packing an additional 38 pages of brand new content for dedicated readers.

Viz Media published the popular manga in English digitally and in print across North America, while Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service also offered digital English chapters.

Celebrations will continue worldwide with the My Hero Academia in Concert tour, featuring memorable scenes paired with live music by composer Yuki Hayashi.

The tour will launch in Japan on May 30, followed by a United States leg beginning September 12 and a European tour spanning from September 20 to October 1.

The “I Am a Hero Too” anime short will debut this summer, with the “More” short currently available to stream via Crunchyroll outside of Asia.
