Bandai has announced the return of four Gunpla kits based on Mobile Suit Gundam MSV-R, with three of the exclusive kits also receiving new US pre-orders.

The re-releases feature mobile suits associated with Uma Lightning and two belonging to Shin Matsunaga, covering both Master Grade and High Grade kits based on customized Zeon machines.

Mobile Suit Gundam MSV-R expanded on the original Mobile Suit Variations concept with additional Universal Century mobile suits, equipment configurations and pilot-specific machines, with much of the project appearing through Gundam Ace.

Personalized versions of familiar Zeon designs are an important part of MSV-R, and all four returning kits place a strong emphasis on the colors, markings, and equipment associated with their respective pilots.

The “MG 1/100 MS-06R-1A Uma Lightning’s Zaku II” uses the MG Zaku II Ver.2.0 as its foundation and recreates Lightning’s High Mobility Type in the vivid blue personal colors associated with the pilot.

The R-1A was developed as an improved version of the earlier R-1 High Mobility Type Zaku II, a family of machines particularly associated with skilled Zeon pilots and their customized units.

Lightning’s version comes equipped with a Zaku Machine Gun, Zaku Bazooka, and Heat Hawk, retaining the familiar weapons of the Zaku II while its blue color scheme provides the biggest visual departure from a standard unit.

Shin Matsunaga’s Gelgoog Jager instead recreates a machine belonging to the pilot famously known as the “White Wolf of Solomon,” giving the returning lineup a considerably different appearance from Lightning’s blue mobile suits.

The “HG 1/144 Shin Matsunaga’s Gelgoog Jager” uses white and gray molded colors to reproduce Matsunaga’s personal scheme, while a marking sticker recreates the distinctive emblem carried on its shoulder.

Its weapons include the Gelgoog Jager’s Beam Machine Gun alongside two Beam Sabers, with the latter included as additional equipment for this particular version.

Uma Lightning’s second returning kit is the “MG 1/100 MS-14B Yuma Lightning’s Gelgoog High Mobility Type,” applying his recognizable blue colors to a heavily modified version of the late-war Zeon mobile suit.

Newly sculpted areas recreate details around the head, rear booster pack, and legs, including the blade antenna base, side intakes, and the additional tanks and thrusters that help define the High Mobility Type.

The large booster equipment gives the machine a considerably more specialized appearance than a standard Gelgoog, while revised leg armor and other smaller changes further distinguish Lightning’s customized version.

Its extensive arsenal includes a Beam Rifle, missile launcher, three-tube missile weapon, Beam Naginata, and shield, giving the finished model plenty of options for armed poses.

The final kit returns to Shin Matsunaga with the “MG 1/100 MS-06R-1A Shin Matsunaga’s Zaku II Custom Type,” based on an alternate High Mobility Type machine associated with the White Wolf.

Its most obvious change comes from the unusual spike armor fitted to both shoulders, accompanied by revised leg components with differently shaped auxiliary fuel tanks and Matsunaga’s subdued off-white personal coloring.

New water-transfer decals include recognizable markings such as the Japanese characters for “White Wolf” and the number “23,” adding further details associated with Matsunaga’s customized mobile suits.
