MG Gundam Heavyarms Custom EW Reissue Confirmed After Gunpla Fan Vote Success
Bandai has confirmed a made-to-order reissue of the MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms Custom EW after the heavily armed mobile suit secured second place in the Premium Bandai Gunpla General Election 2026.
Gundam Heavyarms Custom EW appears in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz as the upgraded mobile suit piloted by Trowa Barton, replacing the original Heavyarms’ red color scheme with a striking blue and white design.
The mobile suit is built almost entirely around overwhelming ranged firepower, earning its reputation as a walking arsenal through an extensive selection of gatling guns, missiles, and concealed weapons.
The Master Grade kit captures that concept with two large double gatling guns that can be equipped across both arms, creating the four-barrel loadout associated with Heavyarms Custom EW.
Its chest armor can also open to reveal four internal Vulcan cannons, while additional missile compartments across the body allow the model to recreate the mobile suit’s signature full-barrage attacks.
The blue and white armor gives Heavyarms Custom EW a noticeably different presence from Trowa’s television-series mobile suit, while the red and yellow details help break up the otherwise cool-toned finish.
An alternate clown mask can be attached to the Gundam’s face, recreating one of the design’s most recognizable visual details from Endless Waltz.
The release also includes a same-scale figure of Trowa Barton wearing his Mariemaia Army uniform, alongside water-transfer decals for adding detailed markings across the completed model.
The reissue follows another strong performance for Heavyarms Custom EW in Premium Bandai’s annual Gunpla kit re-release fan vote, having climbed from third place in the 2025 election to second place in 2026.
More than 50,000 fans participated in this year’s poll, choosing up to ten favorites from around 750 Premium Bandai Gunpla kits released through the Hobby Online Shop since 2009.
The MG 1/100 Ex-S Gundam/S Gundam (Task Force Alpha Ver.) won the election for a second consecutive year with 6,298 votes, while Heavyarms Custom EW followed with 4,852 votes and the MG 1/100 ν Gundam HWS Ver.Ka placed third with 4,252 votes.
Although Heavyarms did not take the top spot, Bandai selected it as the Premium Bandai Gunpla General Election 2026 reissue, perhaps as the Ex-S Gundam/S Gundam (Task Force Alpha Ver.) is already set to be re-released in September 2026.
The MG 1/100 Gundam Heavyarms Custom EW is priced at ¥5,720 (approx. $36 USD / £27 GBP), with made-to-order applications available through the Premium Bandai Japan online store from 11:00 AM JST on July 31 until 5:59 PM JST on August 7, 2026.
The reissue has currently only been confirmed for Japan at this time, although it may also appear through Premium Bandai US
in the near future.
Orders placed through Premium Bandai Japan are currently scheduled to ship in June 2027.
