Limited Edition Char Aznable Inspired Gundam Fountain Pen Opens for Pre-Orders

Japanese stationery manufacturer “Sailor Pen” has announced a new premium writing instrument based on the classic anime series Mobile Suit Gundam.
The “Mobile Suit Gundam x Sailor Pen: Char Aznable Specification Fountain Pen” is an elegant daily use accessory inspired by the iconic antagonist.

Originally airing in 1979, Mobile Suit Gundam redefined the mecha genre by depicting giant robots as realistic weapons of war.

The influential series moved away from simple good-versus-evil storytelling to present a complex human drama with meticulous scientific accuracy that has maintained global popularity for over four decades.

This new collaboration piece incorporates the distinct military elements of the Principality of Zeon and iconography related to Char Aznable into a gorgeous stationery piece.

The upper cap is decorated with a gold emblem and unit number, while the cap ring features a prominent engraving of the character’s name.

Its versatile medium-fine stainless steel nib is finished in IP gold and detailed with a delicate laser engraving of the Zeon emblem.

The pen comes beautifully packaged in a dedicated box adorned with gold foil, arriving complete with an ink converter so it can be used immediately.

It also includes a 20 ml bottle of specially mixed red dye ink, featuring a label stamped with a gold foil illustration of Char’s customized Zaku II.

The pen itself measures approximately 1.7 cm by 13.4 cm and is constructed using PMMA, iron, brass, and stainless steel.

Meanwhile, the accompanying ink bottle measures approximately 3.4 cm by 5.6 cm by 3.4 cm.

The “Mobile Suit Gundam x Sailor Pen Char Aznable Specification Fountain Pen“ is priced at 22,000 yen (approx. $141 USD / £112 GBP).

Pre-orders are now available via Premium Bandai, and will remain open until the limited preparation stock is depleted.

Orders are scheduled to begin shipping from October 2026 onwards.
