Legendary Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu is releasing his own craft beer
Two new craft beers have been created in a collaboration between the legendary video game composer Nobuo Uematsu and two breweries from the city of Ichinoseki in Iwate Prefecture.
The new product line, titled “Nobuo Uematsu presents My Beer,” was born from a tourism promotion project that deepened the composer’s connection with the city.
Nobuo Uematsu is a world-famous musician, best known for creating the iconic and beloved soundtracks for the majority of the mainline Final Fantasy video game series.
This new project sees the well-known beer aficionado partner with the local breweries Sekinoichi Shuzo and NOYMOND BREWING to create two different beers, each designed to reflect a different aspect of his musical style.
The two new craft beers are as follows:
- Uematsu Nobuo presents My Beer SYMPHONY
Brewed by the long-established Sekinoichi Shuzo, this is a deep red, Belgian-style ale designed to be savored slowly, representing the multi-layered and profound side of Uematsu’s music.
The label features a self-portrait by Uematsu himself.
- Uematsu Nobuo presents My Beer POP
Brewed by the newer NOYMOND BREWING, this is a refreshing and easy-drinking Pale Ale with a citrusy aroma, designed to represent the bright and catchy side of his compositions.
The pixel-art style label was created by the legendary video game artist, Kazuyuki Kurashima.
The new beers will have an advance, in-person sale at the “28th National Craft Beer Festival in Ichinoseki.”
This major festival, which will feature over 150 different craft beers from across the country, is a fitting venue for the debut.
Adding to the celebration, Nobuo Uematsu’s own band, “Nobuo Uematsu con TIKI,” is scheduled to perform at the festival on the same day the beers go on sale.
The craft beer festival is scheduled to run from this Friday, the 22nd of August, to the 24th of August, 2025, with the beers going on sale from the third day.
