Gundam’s Exclusive MG Crossbone X3 Ver.Ka Gunpla Kit Returns for New US Re-Release
Image by Charlotte DavisOne of Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam’s exclusive Master Grade Ver.Ka kits is officially returning to the US, giving builders another chance to add Tobia Arronax’s distinctive Crossbone Gundam X3 to their collection.
The returning “MG 1/100 CROSSBONE GUNDAM X3 Ver.Ka” recreates the third Crossbone Gundam with its white, blue, and red coloring, unique head design, and pair of I-Field generators built into the forearms.
Crossbone Gundam X3 originates from the original Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam manga and becomes Tobia Arronax’s primary mobile suit as the conflict with the Jupiter Empire escalates.
Although closely related to the X1 and X2, the X3 immediately separates itself through its brighter appearance and experimental forearm-mounted I-Field generators, which replace the standard beam-shield arrangement used by the earlier Crossbone Gundams.
Bandai reproduces those differences with newly molded parts for the head and forearms, including opening mechanisms that allow the two I-Field generators to be displayed in their deployed state.
A pair of specially molded open hands is also included to recreate scenes in which the X3 projects its I-Fields directly from its palms, giving the completed model a display option that is particularly closely associated with Tobia’s mobile suit.
Its signature weapon is the Muramasa Blaster, an oversized sword-like armament lined with multiple beam emitters, with clear effect parts included to recreate the row of beam blades extending from its sides.
The kit also includes the Buster Gun, Beam Zanber, Scissor Anchors, Screw Whips, Heat Daggers, and Beam Sabers alongside an ABC Cloak, giving the X3 a considerably broader selection of weapons beyond its signature Muramasa Blaster.
A detachable Core Fighter can separate from the main body and transform for independent display, with a dedicated connection part also allowing the completed Gundam to be mounted on an Action Base 1.
Standing and cockpit figures of Tobia Arronax are included alongside Ver.Ka water-transfer decals, while the overall design was produced under the supervision of Hajime Katoki for the kit’s original Premium Bandai release in 2013.
US builders have also recently been given new opportunities to pick up other Premium Bandai-exclusive Crossbone Gundam Ver.Ka kits, with the silver “MG 1/100 Crossbone Gundam X0 Ver.Ka” and black and violet “MG 1/100 Crossbone Gundam X2 Custom Ver.Ka” both receiving their own US re-releases.
Pre-orders for the exclusive “MG 1/100 CROSSBONE GUNDAM X3 Ver.Ka”, priced at $60, are now available through Premium Bandai US and are currently scheduled to remain open until February 16, 2027 at 2:59 AM EST, although reservations may close earlier if the available allocation sells out.
Orders are currently scheduled to ship in March 2027.
