Bandai Brings Yzak Joule’s Exclusive Slash Zaku Phantom Gunpla Kit Back to the US for New Re-Release
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has brought one of Gundam SEED Destiny’s fan-favorite exclusive Gunpla kits back to the US, with Yzak Joule’s heavily armed Slash Zaku Phantom returning for a limited-time promotional event.
The “MG 1/100 SLASH ZAKU PHANTOM (YZAK JULE CUSTOM)” joins a large selection of exclusive Gunpla kits, figures, and other collectibles returning for Premium Bandai Week 2026, which also offers a temporary reduction to the usual free-shipping threshold.

Slash Zaku Phantom is the personal Mobile Suit of Yzak Joule in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, the sequel to the original Gundam SEED anime that follows a renewed conflict between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT.

The customized machine uses the ZAKU Phantom platform equipped with the Slash Wizard backpack, a specialized equipment system that provides additional weapons designed for close-range combat.

Bandai originally released the exclusive Master Grade kit in April 2020, recreating Yzak’s distinctive light blue and white coloring alongside the Mobile Suit’s heavily armed configuration.

The kit builds upon the existing “MG 1/100 Gunner Zaku Warrior (Lunamaria Hawke Custom)” design, adding newly molded components to recreate the Slash Wizard equipment, additional armor, and specialized weapons.

One of its biggest features is the large Slash Wizard backpack, which carries a pair of MMI-M826 Hydra Gatling Beam Cannons mounted on articulated supports.

The cannons feature adjustable barrels that can rotate and pivot, allowing builders to recreate the machine’s distinctive over-the-shoulder firing configuration.

Another major addition is the enormous MA-MR Falx G7 Beam Axe, a close-combat weapon that can be displayed in its deployed form with translucent pink beam effects.

The weapon also features interchangeable components for different configurations, including a compact stored form that can be mounted on the Mobile Suit’s rear waist armor.

Additional armaments include the standard Beam Assault Rifle, two shoulder-mounted shields, Beam Tomahawks, and hand grenades, giving builders a large selection of weapons for different action poses.

The shoulder shields include attachment points for the Beam Tomahawks, while the rifle can be folded into its storage configuration and attached to the rear waist.

The Master Grade construction also features an articulated internal frame, movable mono-eye and opening cockpit hatch, with interchangeable hands for holding the included weapons.

A dedicated sheet of water-slide decals featuring markings associated with Yzak’s machine is also included to provide additional finishing details.
The Slash Zaku Phantom has proven popular among Gunpla collectors, placing 18th out of approximately 750 eligible kits in Bandai’s 2026 Premium Bandai Gunpla General Election, receiving 2,357 votes from Japanese fans.

Other recent Gundam SEED Destiny releases have also revisited ZAFT’s customized ZAKU machines, including the exclusive “MG 1/100 Blaze Zaku Phantom (Heine Westenfluss Custom)“.

That Master Grade kit recreates Heine’s distinctive orange Mobile Suit with a Blaze Wizard backpack featuring large boosters and missile pods, alongside additional markings and accessories associated with the ZAFT pilot.
