Hello Kitty Heads to the Beach for Sanrio’s New Tropical Inspired Merch Collection
Image by James RichardsonSanrio has added a new tropical Hello Kitty collection to its official US online store, featuring the iconic mascot in both her classic white look and a sun-kissed tan appearance.
The six-item “Island Hibiscus Series” leans heavily into a vacation theme, dressing Hello Kitty in hibiscus-inspired outfits and floral accents that bring a colorful island feel to plushes and smaller accessories.

Rather than expanding the lineup across multiple Sanrio characters, the Island Hibiscus Series keeps its attention entirely on Hello Kitty, with matching white and tan versions available across each of the three types of available merchandise.

The “Hello Kitty White Plush,” priced at $42, keeps her familiar coloring while adding a hibiscus-themed outfit, floral accents and a mix of embroidered and appliqué details.

The matching “Hello Kitty White Plush Mascot Clip,” priced at $29, shrinks the same island-inspired styling into a portable plush accessory with an attached clip for bags and other everyday items.

The “Hello Kitty White Plush Mini Face Pouch,” priced at $21, turns her face into a small zippered pouch finished with hibiscus accents, embroidered details and a coordinating carabiner.

The “Hello Kitty Tan Plush,” also priced at $42, gives the collection its biggest visual change by swapping her usual white coloring for a warm tan while keeping the same tropical outfit and flower-focused detailing.

The “Hello Kitty Tan Plush Mascot Clip,” priced at $29, carries that sun-kissed appearance into the smaller clip-on format, complete with matching hibiscus styling and embroidered and appliqué decoration.

The Island Hibiscus Series continues a busy run of character collections arriving through Sanrio’s US store this summer, with the recently released Milky Kitten Series giving Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, My Melody and My Sweet Piano fluffy cat-inspired makeovers based around soft café drink colors.

Another recent addition, the Cherry Blossom Fairies Series, takes a very different approach with blossom-covered outfits, bows, flower ornaments and fairy wings across characters including Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, My Sweet Piano and Bonbonribbon.

The “Island Hibiscus Series” is now available to order through the official Sanrio US online store while stocks last.
