Exclusive Rilakkuma merch revealed as World Expo 2025 expands official goods range

Two months into the Osaka-Kansai Expo, its official on-site stores are expanding their merchandise offerings with 34 new original products set for release throughout June and July.

The new lineup includes collaborations with popular characters and brands, including Rilakkuma and PEZ, along with fresh artwork from a local Osaka artist whose previous work sold out quickly.

The 2025 World Exposition, hosted in Osaka, Japan, serves as a global platform for innovation and cultural exchange, attracting visitors from around the world.

Official merchandise plays a significant role in capturing the spirit of the event and offering tangible memories for attendees.

The classic PEZ dispenser will also get a makeover based on the mascot of the Expo, Myakumyaku

These new additions aim to further enhance the visitor experience by providing a broader array of unique items.

Among the upcoming releases are several key collaborations and unique items:

  • Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma Plush Toys (Launching June 25th)

The popular relaxation-themed characters, who celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2023, will appear in Osaka-Kansai Expo exclusive collaboration plush toys.

These include versions where the characters are nestled in removable sleeping bags (¥6,930 each) and smaller “hanging plush” figures depicting Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma embracing the Expo’s official mascot, Myakumyaku (¥3,960 each). Quantities for these items are limited.

  • PEZ Collaboration Key Chains (Launching Early July)

The iconic PEZ dispenser, recognized globally, is reimagined as a key chain. 

These feature Myakumyaku as the character head and include a carabiner and candy-shaped charm. 

Like traditional PEZ dispensers, tilting the head reveals a candy-like piece (note: no edible candy is included). 

Each key charm will be available in red or blue for ¥2,640.

  • New Art by Osaka Artist Hime (Launching Mid-July)

Following the swift sell-out of her original artwork at the Expo’s opening, Osaka-based artist Hime will release new pieces.

“Dixie”

Hime is known for her retro-futuristic, stylish, and often melancholic girl-themed artwork, reminiscent of 1980s aesthetics.

The new releases include a one-of-a-kind original piece, “Dixie” (20 gou, 727mm x 606mm) priced at ¥1,980,000, and a limited edition of 50 silk-screen prints titled “Anything smile and kiss, again” (508mm x 610mm) for ¥165,000.

The new merchandise also extends to traditional Japanese crafts and practical items:

  • Kutani Ware Maneki-Neko (Launching Mid-July)

Collaborating with Kamide Choueumon Kiln, a Kutani Ware pottery established in 1879, the Expo will offer limited-edition Maneki-Neko (beckoning cat) figurines.

Kamide Choueumon Kiln is recognized for blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative designs.

These pieces, limited to 170 units (85 each for left- and right-handed versions), are inspired by Myakumyaku and cost ¥19,800 each.

  • Arita Ware Collaboration (Re-stocking Late June)

A re-stock of collaboration items with Arita Porcelain Lab, a luxury Arita ware brand founded in 1804.

These items, which include a cup (¥9,075) and a set of two small plates (¥6,050), blend traditional Japanese aesthetics with a modern, luxurious lifestyle, designed to evoke a sense of elegance and hospitality inspired by Myakumyaku.

  • Myakumyaku-Themed Personal Care Items (Launching June 28th)

A range of daily care products in collaboration with Shobido will be available.

These include hand creams in osmanthus and white lily scents (¥1,220 each), a Myakumyaku makeup sponge (¥1,110), and a Myakumyaku toothbrush and pouch set (¥1,550).

Visitors to the Osaka-Kansai Expo are encouraged to explore these new original products at the on-site official stores to take home lasting memories of their experience.
