Converse x CLAMP Returns With Tokyo Babylon and X Collections

CONVERSE TOKYO has revealed the third wave of their ongoing apparel collaboration with the renowned female creative collective CLAMP.
Following previous lines that were based on xxxHOLiC and Chobits, as well as Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, Magic Knight Rayearth, and Clover, the new collection is a stylish apparel range inspired by the classic manga series Tokyo Babylon and X.

Formed in 1989, the four-woman team consisting of Igarashi Satsuki, Ohkawa Nanase, Nekoi, and Mokona has consistently pushed the boundaries of art across various demographics, moving seamlessly from magical girl epics to dark urban fantasies.

Tokyo Babylon caught the attention of readers in the early 1990s with its poignant exploration of spiritual matters and societal issues in a rapidly modernizing metropolis.

The story follows a compassionate young onmyoji who protects the city from supernatural threats alongside his twin sister and a mysterious veterinarian.

X, sometimes known internationally as X/1999, presents a much darker apocalyptic story where superhuman factions battle to determine the ultimate fate of humanity and the Earth.

This fresh merchandise lineup merges those iconic stories with modern streetwear aesthetics, incorporating the signature star emblem of the clothing brand.

The designers crafted specialized motifs for the garments, blending a crown and cherry blossoms for the onmyoji tale, and utilizing angelic wings for the apocalyptic showdown.

Fans can also enjoy striking pouch charms that frame memorable manga panels like miniature masterpieces.

For those seeking premium home decor, the lineup includes highly limited artwork created by renowned artists Kosuke Kawamura and Yuta Okuda.
