NieR’s Official $1,000 Doll Collection Returns With Kainé’s Debut and Upgraded 2B
Image by James RichardsonJapanese doll manufacturer Volks has unveiled two premium dolls based on the NieR series, expanding its Dollfie Dream collection with an upgraded returning favorite and an entirely new addition.
The new “Dollfie Dream Dynamite 2B (YoRHa No. 2 Type B) 2.0” and “Dollfie Dream Dynamite Kainé” recreate the protagonists of NieR and NieR Replicant, with 2B receiving a major upgrade over her original release and Kainé making her debut in the Dollfie Dream series.
Created by Yoko Taro and published by Square Enix, the NieR series began in 2010 as a spin-off from Drakengard, earning a devoted following through its emotional storytelling, unusual gameplay and memorable characters.
The original game was followed by NieR in 2017, introducing players to the android soldiers 2B, 9S and A2 as they battle machine lifeforms across a post-apocalyptic Earth.
NieR Replicant later received an updated release in 2021, introducing its story to a wider audience with improved visuals, expanded content and reworked combat mechanics.
Both games have inspired numerous official collectibles, including a special NieR 15th Anniversary PC case featuring 2B and Kainé developed by Square Enix and computer hardware manufacturer NZXT earlier in 2026.
Volks specializes in high-end collectible dolls, with its Dollfie Dream range combining the appearance of traditional character figures with articulated bodies, removable outfits, interchangeable wigs and other customizable components.
The new NieR releases use the latest Dollfie Dream Dynamite 2.0 body, which measures approximately 57 cm tall and incorporates an updated internal frame designed to allow more natural posing.
Volks previously introduced Dollfie Dream versions of 2B and 9S as part of a limited pre-order project in 2018, making the updated 2B release a return to one of its earlier NieR collaborations.
For the new “Dollfie Dream Dynamite 2B (YoRHa No. 2 Type B) 2.0”, Volks has revised the original design with improved proportions, including adjustments to the head size and body shape to better recreate 2B’s appearance in NieR.
Her black combat dress has also been updated with more detailed clothing and accessories, retaining the embroidered decorations, long sleeves and distinctive skirt associated with her YoRHa uniform.
The set includes 2B’s short white wig, headband, combat visor, boots and specially designed gloved hands for holding her weapon.
Volks has also created an entirely new sculpt for 2B’s signature sword, Virtuous Contract, which can be held using the supplied replacement hand components.
The weapon has previously inspired other premium NieR merchandise, including a life-size replica of Virtuous Contract that recreated its appearance with interactive lighting and sound effects.
Kainé’s first Dollfie Dream release is based on her appearance in NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, recreating the silver-haired warrior with her blue-and-black outfit, bandaged clothing and accessories.
The “Dollfie Dream Dynamite Kainé” includes an original head sculpt, specially styled wig and 18 mm resin eyes, accompanied by clothing designed to reproduce her appearance from the game.
Her outfit includes a bandage-style top, camisole dress, arm covers, shorts, socks and shoes, with additional hair accessories completing the design.
Volks has also included a flower accessory inspired by the Lunar Tear, the white flower that plays an important role throughout the NieR series and is closely connected to Kainé’s story.
Kainé comes equipped with two swords featuring their familiar serrated blades, alongside dedicated gloved hands that allow her to hold both weapons in different poses.
The two dolls use original head designs sculpted by Volks’ Zoukei-Mura team, with their outfits developed by the manufacturer’s dedicated doll design department.
Both are being produced as part of Volks’ limited Dollfie Dream Pre-Order Project, which guarantees an order to everyone who reserves their chosen doll during the designated ordering period, rather than restricting availability to a fixed number of units.
In Japan, “Dollfie Dream Dynamite 2B 2.0” and “Dollfie Dream Dynamite Kainé” are priced at ¥110,000 each, with pre-orders available through the official Volks Dollfie online store until November 29, 2026, and deliveries currently scheduled for winter 2027.
Both dolls are also available to pre-order in the US through the official VOLKS USA online store, priced at $1,000 each.
American customers can either pay the full amount upfront or place a $200 deposit, with the remaining $800 due before shipping.
US pre-orders close on November 29, 2026, at 10 AM PT, with delivery currently expected in early 2028.
