Compass: Open-World VR Flying Adventure Announced for PS VR2, SteamVR, and Quest

Developer Trebuchet has officially announced its latest project, an open-world virtual reality flying adventure titled Compass.

The game is scheduled for release in the spring of 2026 and will be available on PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, and Meta Quest platforms.

Players assume the role of a new Scout for a wandering Caravan and are tasked with charting safe routes through the Skypath.

The primary mission involves assisting a crew in delivering a mysterious Egg to a location known as the great Incubator.

The narrative takes a turn when an encounter with a formidable beast scatters the Scout’s companions across the whimsical, pillowy skies.

In order to reunite the crew, players must pilot a hand-crafted speeder across carrot-topped isles and navigate unpredictable shifting weather.

The gameplay loop includes activating Relays from the cockpit to clear paths and docking at a traveling garage to apply custom paint jobs.

Exploration extends beyond the vehicle as players can leave the cockpit to use hand grapples for swinging through ruins and solving ancient puzzles.

Restoring the skies’ Harmony requires activating Amplifiers to upgrade the speeder and helping local inhabitants rebuild their homes.

Key crew members such as Captain Nym and Chladni the navigator must be located while the player dodges rogue machines.

This upcoming title aims to blend high-altitude flight mechanics with environmental storytelling in a world filled with floating wonders.
