Hello Kitty and Sushiro Announce First-Ever Collab with Exclusive Menu and Merch

Hello Kitty is heading to Sushiro for the restaurant chain’s first collaboration with the globally popular Sanrio character, introducing a range of limited edition dishes, collectible merchandise and specially decorated stores for a limited time this summer.
Created by Sanrio in 1974, Hello Kitty has grown from a character featured on a small coin purse into an international pop culture icon whose familiar red bow has appeared across animation, fashion, games, theme parks and countless collaborations.

The new campaign combines the Hello Kitty’s signature cuteness with Sushiro’s food through a concept that imagines her discovering just how delicious the chain’s sushi can be.

The collaboration will unfold across two separate waves during the Japanese summer vacation period, with the first beginning on July 29 and the second following on August 19.
Each wave will introduce a different selection of meals and collectibles, while several shared products and interactive experiences will remain available throughout the wider campaign.

A range of different limited edition food items will join the menu in the collab’s first-wave.
The “Spicy Mala-Style Albacore Tuna with Fried Green Onion,” priced from ¥250 (approx. $1.70 USD / £1.25 GBP), comes with one randomly selected Hello Kitty collaboration pick from eight possible designs.

The “Squid with Plum and Shiso,” priced from ¥250 (approx. $1.70 USD / £1.25 GBP), also includes one of the eight random character picks and combines squid with the sharp, refreshing flavors of Japanese plum and shiso leaf.

The “Shrimp and Minced Tuna Wrap,” priced from ¥250 (approx. $1.70 USD / £1.25 GBP), completes the opening trio of sushi dishes and comes with one randomly selected collaboration pick from the same eight-design collection.

The “Make-Your-Own Sushiro Set with Hello Kitty Zipper Pouch,” priced from ¥720 (approx. $4.85 USD / £3.60 GBP), contains shrimp, tuna, salmon, egg, salmon roe, corn mayonnaise, cucumber, miniature rice portions and seaweed alongside one of four random pouches and one of five collaboration sheets.

The “Apple Mille-Crêpe Melba,” priced from ¥350 (approx. $2.35 USD / £1.75 GBP), pairs the layered dessert with one of eight randomly distributed Hello Kitty collaboration stickers.

The “Hello Kitty Mascot Soft Drink,” priced from ¥1,350 (approx. $9.05 USD / £6.75 GBP), includes one randomly selected mascot from a collection of four standard designs and one secret version.

The second wave will then see these dishes swapped out for a new range of savory and sweet options.
The “Large Shrimp,” priced from ¥250 (approx. $1.70 USD / £1.25 GBP), will include one of eight transparent collaboration picks featuring new Hello Kitty artwork.

The “Squid and Minced Tuna Wrap,” priced from ¥250 (approx. $1.70 USD / £1.25 GBP), will also be served with one randomly selected transparent pick from the eight available designs.

The “Make-Your-Own Sushiro Set with Hello Kitty Mini Charm,” priced from ¥720 (approx. $4.85 USD / £3.60 GBP), includes the same selection of sushi ingredients together with one of four random mini charms and one of the five shared collaboration sheets.

The “Warabi Mochi and Candied Sweet Potato” dessert, priced from ¥330 (approx. $2.20 USD / £1.65 GBP), comes with one of eight random collaboration seals featuring artwork created for the campaign.

The “Hello Kitty Mascot Soft Drink,” also priced from ¥1,350 (approx. $9.05 USD / £6.75 GBP), features a separate collection containing three standard mascots and one secret design.

All picks, stickers, seals, pouches, charms, sheets and mascots will be distributed randomly with eligible purchases, meaning customers will not be able to choose a specific character design.
The stickers and seals included with the two desserts will each feature a reusable 5% Sushiro discount coupon on the reverse, valid at participating restaurants from September 9 through September 30, 2026.

The collaboration will extend beyond the menu through a “Hello Kitty Mode” created for Sushiro’s large “Digiro” touchscreen displays at participating restaurants, adding themed digital content to the dining experience.

Five locations will also receive complete Hello Kitty makeovers featuring illustrations of the character holding sushi, sparkling-eyed expressions inspired by her reaction to the food and mirrored walls designed for visitor photos.
The participating themed restaurants are the Tama Center location in Tokyo, Muza Kawasaki in Kanagawa, Sakae in Aichi, Esaka in Osaka and Kokura Station Front in Fukuoka.

The first wave will begin at participating Sushiro restaurants across Japan on July 29, 2026, followed by the second wave on August 19, with each menu item remaining available only while its allocated supply of collaboration merchandise lasts.
The five specially decorated restaurants will operate from July 29 through September 6, 2026, although individual food and collectible sets may sell out before the campaign ends.

Prices may differ between locations, and the collaboration products are intended for dine-in customers rather than takeout orders.
Sushiro To Go locations and Kyotaru-Sushiro takeout stores will not participate in the campaign.
