Square Enix Opens Orders for New FF7 Rebirth Sephiroth PLAY ARTS SHIN Figure

Sephiroth serves as the central antagonist of Final Fantasy VII and remains one of the most recognizable villains in gaming, with Rebirth continuing Cloud Strife and his companions’ pursuit of the former SOLDIER across the world beyond Midgar.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth forms the second part of Square Enix’s three-game remake project, expanding and reworking events from the original 1997 RPG while giving Sephiroth an even greater presence throughout Cloud’s journey.

The new PLAY ARTS SHIN Sephiroth stands approximately 29 cm tall and recreates his long silver hair, sharp facial features, and black coat alongside the layered textures of his shoulder armor, belts, and boots.

PLAY ARTS SHIN builds on Square Enix’s long-running PLAY ARTS KAI range with redesigned hip and joint components that remove the previous clicking mechanism, allowing movement to feel smoother while opening up a wider range of poses.

Sephiroth also receives the line’s movable eye system, allowing his gaze to be adjusted to suit different poses rather than fixing his expression in a single direction.

Square Enix has included an interchangeable face with a slight smile, giving collectors an alternative to his standard expression while retaining the movable eye feature.

An alternate section of flowing hair can be swapped in when creating more active poses, helping the character’s long silver hair match the movement of his body during battle scenes.

His signature Masamune is included as the main weapon accessory, allowing the figure to recreate Sephiroth’s familiar sword poses from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

The set also comes with multiple interchangeable hands, including parts designed specifically for holding the Masamune and additional options for recreating scenes from the game.

A removable single black wing completes the accessory selection, allowing Sephiroth to be shown in one of the forms most closely associated with his later appearances across the Final Fantasy VII series.

The combination of the wing, alternate hair and expanded articulation gives the figure plenty of options for recreating both calmer character poses and the more dramatic confrontations between Sephiroth and the previously released Cloud.

The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PLAY ARTS SHIN Sephiroth is priced at ¥31,900 (approx. $201 USD / £147 GBP), with pre-orders now available through reputable hobby goods retailers including HobbyLink Japan.
The figure is currently scheduled for release in November 2026.
