Orders Open as Seiko and Evangelion Unveil Limited Edition Unit-02 Inspired RADIO EVA Collab Watch

RADIO EVA has revealed its second high-end Seiko collaboration watch, this time channeling the spirit of Evangelion Unit-02 into a limited-production diver’s model built for both collectors and everyday wear.
The first RADIO EVA x Seiko collaboration watch was inspired by EVA Unit-01 and had a limited production run of only 300 pieces.

The new EVA-02 Diver’s Watch, which is limited to a slightly increased 400 pieces following the strong demand for the earlier EVA-01 model, shifts the focus from Unit-01’s purple and green color scheme to the bold red aesthetic of Evangelion Unit-02.

Evangelion began with Hideaki Anno’s Neon Genesis Evangelion TV anime in 1995, later becoming one of the most influential mecha franchises ever made before concluding its modern film era with the Rebuild of Evangelion series in 2021.

Evangelion Unit-02 is best known as the red production-type Evangelion unit piloted by Asuka, combining a striking visual design with the aggressive combat presence that made it one of the franchise’s most recognizable mecha.

The watch is based on Seiko’s long-running diver’s watch heritage, which began in 1965 with Japan’s first domestically produced diver’s watch and later helped influence both ISO and JIS diving watch standards.

Built around a substantial 4.5 cm case, the collaboration adapts Seiko’s sporty diver’s silhouette into a design packed with visual references to EVA Unit-02.

The standout detail is the custom-molded second hand, which takes the shape of the Spear of Longinus and uses a deep crimson finish that strongly connects the watch to Evangelion’s most iconic imagery.

The 12 o’clock position features a design inspired by Unit-02’s head, while the 2, 4, 8 and 10 o’clock markers use green accents that reference the unit’s eyes.

A honeycomb pattern across the dial adds another Evangelion-inspired touch, giving the face of the watch a technical look that fits the franchise’s distinctive visual language.

The watch also uses a black-plated stainless steel case paired with a sporty silicone band, making it suitable for regular wear while still feeling like a premium character collaboration piece.

Inside the watch is Seiko’s Caliber 4R36 mechanical automatic movement, which also supports hand-winding and offers a power reserve of approximately 41 hours when fully wound.

The movement has a listed accuracy range of +45 to -35 seconds per day, while the display includes both date and day indicators for added practicality.

The watch uses Hardlex glass, includes LumiBrite on the hands and indexes, features JIS Class 1 magnetic resistance, and provides 200-meter diver’s water resistance.

Its case measures approximately 4.91 cm tall, 4.5 cm wide and 1.41 cm thick, with a 2.2 cm band width and an overall weight of approximately 120 g.

The Seiko x RADIO EVA EVA-02 Diver’s Watch is now available to pre-order through the official RADIO EVA online store for ¥132,000 (approx. $885 USD / £700 GBP), with a three-year warranty included.

With only a limited number of units available, fans will need to be quick to secure their orders if they want to add this latest Seiko x Evangelion collab watch to their collection.
