Bandai Reveals New Digimon Beatbreak Digital Monster COLOR Devices to Celebrate Anime Finale
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has officially revealed two new color-screen virtual pets created to commemorate the finale of DIGIMON BEATBREAK.
The anime concluded in Japan with its 49th episode on September 27, bringing Tomoro Tenma and Gekkomon’s story to an end almost a year after the series first premiered in October 2025.
DIGIMON BEATBREAK takes place in a world where human thoughts and emotions known as e-Pulse are used to power AI support devices called Sapotama, before Digimon begin materializing from the technology and feeding on that same emotional energy.
Tomoro becomes caught up in the growing conflict after Gekkomon emerges from his Sapotama, eventually joining the bounty-hunting team Glowing Dawn as they investigate rogue Digimon and the wider consequences of the e-Pulse system.
The series expanded its story considerably during 2026, including the launch of the GIFT Arc in April, before building toward the final battle involving Tomoro, Asuka and the newly introduced Atratusmon.
Bandai’s new “Digital Monster COLOR DIGIMON BEATBREAK EDITION” adapts characters and mechanics from the anime into the modern version of its classic virtual pet format, with around 30 Digimon available to raise.
That roster includes Digimon introduced through BEATBREAK alongside several of the enemies encountered during the anime, allowing players to recreate battles from the series using their own raised partners.
Two shell designs will be available, although both contain the same internal program and Digimon roster.
The “GLOWING DOWN COLOR” brings together partner Digimon associated with the Glowing Dawn team across the front of the device, including Gekkomon, Pristimon, Chiropmon, and Murasamemon.
The “DIGIVOLUTION GEKKOMON COLOR” instead focuses on Gekkomon’s evolution line, featuring forms including Armalizamon and Monarchlizamon alongside Atratusmon, which appeared during the closing stages of the anime.
Both versions use UV printing across the shells and retain the full-color LCD screen and built-in rechargeable battery found across Bandai’s current Digital Monster COLOR range.
The BEATBREAK theme also carries directly into battles, where repeatedly pressing the controls raises e-Pulse and changes the strength of your Digimon’s attack, while evolution sequences use effects inspired by those seen in the anime.
Players can change the display background and use Cold Mode to temporarily stop a Digimon’s growth without reducing its hunger or strength, while one raised Digimon can be stored using the built-in backup system.
Communication battles are supported between the two BEATBREAK versions as well as previously released Digital Monster COLOR and Digimon Pendulum COLOR devices.
Bandai has continued to experiment with the COLOR hardware through several recent releases, including the “Digital Monster COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition”, which replaced the traditional Digimon roster with creatures including Rathalos and Zinogre.
The related Digimon Pendulum COLOR range has also expanded during 2026 through projects such as its Godzilla crossover, introducing new G-cell infected Digimon and a large roster of monsters drawn from both franchises.
Bandai is also releasing a new storage accessory alongside the BEATBREAK devices, with the “Digimon Case Iremon COLOR” available in “LOUD PURPLE” and “LOUD PINK” versions.
The case allows a Digital Monster COLOR device to be played and charged without being removed, while opening its lid leaves enough access for two housed devices to connect for communication battles.
Both versions of the “Digital Monster COLOR DIGIMON BEATBREAK EDITION” are priced at ¥7,700 each (approximately $49 / £37), while the “Digimon Case Iremon COLOR” costs ¥1,980 (approximately $13 / £10) in either color.
Pre-orders are available through Premium Bandai Japan from September 27 until October 25, 2026, with both the virtual pets and their matching cases scheduled to ship in March 2027.
Though no US release has been confirmed as yet, it’s highly likely that both devices will eventually appear through Premium Bandai US sometime in the near future.
