Absolum Set for Switch 2 Release

Publisher Dotemu alongside developers Guard Crush Games and Supamonks officially announced on April 7, 2026, that the arcade-inspired beat em up title Absolum is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.
While a specific launch date for the digital version on the new hardware was not provided, the companies confirmed that the game will feature its signature fast-paced side-scrolling action.
To complement the digital release, Silver Lining Interactive revealed a physical edition for the Switch 2 that is scheduled for distribution in the third quarter of 2026.
This physical release will include the entire game on a single cartridge, maintaining the high standards set by the previous physical runs for PlayStation 5 and the original Nintendo Switch.
Pre-orders for the Switch 2 physical edition are currently available through Silver Lining Direct with pricing set at $49.99, £44.99, and €49.99.
Absolum originally made its debut on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on October 9, 2025.
The game is set in the fantasy world of Talamh, where a tyrannical figure named Sun King Azra and his Crimson Order have banned the use of magic.
Players lead a resistance by choosing from four fighters named Galandra, Karl, Cider, and Brome, each possessing unique combat styles and magical abilities.
The experience blends traditional brawler mechanics with roguelite elements such as randomized upgrades and branching paths to ensure high replayability.
Cooperative play is a core feature, allowing friends to team up locally or online to restore magic to the realm.
Guard Crush Games, known for their work on Streets of Rage 4, has implemented a deep combat system that rewards players for mastering spells, counters, and upgradable skills.
The title later expanded its reach to the Xbox Series X and S platforms on March 25, 2026, where it was also made available through the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
