Adams stated that his first-ever piece of Zelda merchandise was a copy of the 1993 Game Boy title, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, which he received as a birthday present when he was nine years old.

While his passion for the series began there, he started his serious collection activities in the year 2000, initially focusing on just collecting games for various consoles.

A turning point came when he failed to purchase a large lot of amiibo figures on an online auction site.

This experience motivated him to collect every single amiibo, and he developed a particular fondness for the ones related to The Legend of Zelda.

In 2021, he decided to sell 90 percent of his other video game collections in order to focus exclusively on collecting merchandise for the Zelda franchise.

His now nearly 4,000-piece collection includes a number of rare and unique items from around the world.

Some of the items showcased in the official video include a set of Spain-exclusive building blocks for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and a special scroll that was a prize from a contest held in Australia.

This new record is a testament to the enduring, global popularity of the long-running series, which is set to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026.
