Bandai Reveals 2 New Gundam Rogue Orbit Gunpla Kits

Bandai has officially revealed two new High Grade Gunpla for GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, giving fans their first look at the first kits based on the upcoming action game.
GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is a brand-new action game currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, introducing an entirely original Gundam universe that exists outside every previous timeline while serving as the foundation for a much larger multimedia project.

The newly announced kits include the standard retail release of the HG 1/144 Gundam Helix together with the HG 1/144 Gundam Helix (Earth Blue Ver.), a special color variant that will only be available as part of a GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT game bundle.

While Bandai has yet to reveal the full specifications for either kit, the Gunpla reveal expands the newly announced “RG Project,” a major multimedia initiative that links GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT with the upcoming anime Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO to create an entirely original Gundam universe shared across multiple forms of media.

Unlike traditional Gundam projects, where games and anime often tell separate stories, the RG Project has been built around a single shared history, allowing each release to explore different time periods and perspectives while contributing to one continuous timeline.

Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO is scheduled to premiere in 2027 and is set approximately 100 years before the events of GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, telling the story that lays the foundations for the world players will later experience in the game.

The series takes place in the After Apocalypse timeline, abbreviated to A.A., where humanity entered a new era after an interstellar object brought three revolutionary technologies to the Solar System, including gravity control, faster-than-light communication, and materialization technology capable of turning images into physical matter.

Less than a decade after its discovery, the same object began producing an aggressive self-replicating silicon-based lifeform known as Apocalypse, forcing humanity into a desperate three-month conflict before Earth was abandoned and civilization retreated to the Moon and orbital colonies.

By A.A. 45, children have grown up knowing only life beyond Earth, with the story following war orphan Ray Azumi after he awakens on the Moon and becomes the dedicated pilot of the experimental Gundam ZERO in humanity’s ongoing battle against Apocalypse.

The project is being directed by Kenji Kamiyama, with worldbuilding by acclaimed science-fiction novelist Toh EnJoe, as the creative team sets out to reimagine what defines a Gundam series by building an entirely new universe from the ground up rather than revisiting the Universal Century or any other established timeline.

No release date or pricing has been announced for either HG 1/144 Gundam Helix kit, although Bandai has confirmed that the standard version will receive a general retail release while the HG 1/144 Gundam Helix (Earth Blue Ver.) will only be available as part of the GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT game bundle.
