World’s first official “Dragon Ball Store” set to open in Tokyo this fall

Toei Animation has announced that the first ever officially licensed, permanent “DRAGON BALL STORE” in the world is set to open in Tokyo as part of the franchise’s 40th-anniversary celebrations.
Dragon Ball, based on the manga by the late Akira Toriyama, first began its serialization in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1984.

Over the past four decades, it has grown from a popular comic into one of the most influential media franchises in the world, with its anime series, films, and video games achieving massive success globally.
The series is often credited with popularizing Japanese manga and anime in the West and has had a profound impact on a generation of artists and creators.

Despite its immense and long-standing popularity, the franchise has never had a dedicated, permanent official retail store.
This new project will finally give fans a central location to immerse themselves in the world of Dragon Ball.
The store is expected to carry a wide range of merchandise, including items that will be sold exclusively at this new location.

Other must-have products for collectors are also planned for the store’s lineup.
The establishment of a permanent store follows the model of other major Japanese franchises and brands, such as JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and SEGA, both of which are set to open stores in Tokyo in 2025.

Dedicated brand stores serve not only as shops but also as major tourist destinations for fans visiting from around the world.
The world’s first “DRAGON BALL STORE” is scheduled to open in fall 2025 and further details regarding the store’s specific location within Tokyo and its exact opening date are yet to be announced.
Many similar official stores have recently chosen Shibuya as their location, in part due to a large number of anime/manga and gaming related brands, such as CAPCOM and Pokémon, already having a presence in the area.

If we had to guess at a location at this stage, Shibuya would certainly seem like the most likely destination for the official “Dragon Ball Store”, however we’ll have to wait for further announcements from Toei Animation to find out more.
An official website and social media accounts for the new store are planned to be launched in the near future, which will provide updates on the store’s progress and its product lineup.
