Hatsune Miku and Vocaloid Legend jon-YAKITORY Release New Single "Zutto Atashi"

Hatsune Miku steps fully into the role of a pop idol in the latest 39ch Originals music video, with producer jon-YAKITORY creating a new song built around her place at the forefront of the Vocaloid scene.

Titled “Zutto Atashi,” the track presents Miku as a performer determined to command the spotlight, pairing its energetic sound with a colorful music video that follows her both onstage and behind the scenes.

Hatsune Miku has been at the center of Vocaloid culture since her debut in 2007, growing from a virtual singing voice into an internationally recognized character whose music is shaped by thousands of independent producers, illustrators and video creators.

Her official 39ch YouTube channel has operated since 2011 and now has more than 4.57 million subscribers, serving as a home for music and experimental projects featuring Miku and the wider Piapro Characters lineup.

Zutto Atashi was written by jon-YAKITORY specifically around the idea of Miku continuing to lead the Vocaloid scene, with the song approaching that theme through the larger-than-life image of an idol who has no intention of giving up center stage.

Illustrator Tsukumo Oshima created the artwork and costume design, giving Miku a bright idol-inspired look that matches the confident personality driving the song.

The artist described the project as an opportunity to portray a free and powerful version of Miku, with the finished design leaning into the playful energy that has helped her remain such a flexible character for different creators.

Aise Manami handled the video’s direction and editing, framing the MV almost like a behind-the-scenes feature following a suddenly popular idol through different sides of her life.

That approach moves between Miku performing beneath the stage lights and quieter moments away from the audience, giving the video plenty of smaller visual details to catch across repeat viewings.

Zutto Atashi forms part of 39ch Originals, an ongoing series of original music videos created for Hatsune Miku’s official channel that ranges from experimental productions to upbeat pop-focused releases.

The song is also being distributed through KARENT, while an instrumental version has been made available through Piapro for creators interested in covers and other fan-made projects.
