Second Reincarnation Of A Talentless Sage Anime Teaser Trailer Revealed
An anime adaptation of the light novel series From Overshadowed to Overpowered: Second Reincarnation of a Talentless Sage is officially scheduled to premiere in July 2026.
The announcement was accompanied by a new teaser trailer released on the series’ official website and social media accounts on March 28, 2026.
The project is being produced by animation studio EMT Squared with Hisashi Ishii serving as the director.
The production staff includes Deko Akao for series composition, Hideki Furukawa for character designs, and Takaaki Nakahashi for the musical score.
The original light novel series was created by Arata Shiraishi and first appeared on the Shosetsuka ni Naro platform in 2018.
Kadokawa Shoten began publishing a print version with illustrations by Uodenim under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint in October 2019, which has since reached eight volumes.
A manga adaptation featuring artwork by Kentarou began serialization in September 2019 and also consists of eight volumes released in Japan as of early 2026.
Manga Up! provides an English-language version of the manga, which follows a reincarnated human named Ephtal who seeks to master magic across two lifetimes.
After dying in his first life without magical talent, Ephtal reincarnates 400 years later to find that world magic has significantly declined, leaving his previously mediocre skills completely unmatched.
