Sanrio releases sweet new ice-cream themed blind box nail polish range
The cosmetics and lifestyle goods company Shobido has launched a cute new line of nail polish created in collaboration with Sanrio.
The new “Secret Ice Cream Nail Polish with Acrylic Stand” collection features unique packaging designed to look like small ice cream cones, each themed around a different Sanrio character.
Sanrio regularly teams up with cosmetics brands to bring fans exciting and exclusive products, with one of their recent collabs including a skincare range with a top Korean cosmetics brand.
This latest nail polish collection is designed to appeal to the broad, multi-generational fanbase of Sanrio, whose “kawaii” aesthetic is popular with both adults and children.
The nail polish itself is formulated to be user-friendly and gentle on the nails.
It is a water-based, peel-off type of manicure, which means it can be removed easily without the need for chemical nail polish removers.
The formula includes Sodium Hyaluronate, a form of Hyaluronic Acid, which acts as a moisturizing ingredient.
This gentle composition makes the polish suitable for a wide range of users, including children who can use it safely.
The product is being sold in a “blind box” format, a common practice for collectible items that adds an element of surprise to each purchase.
Each box contains one of six potential character and color combinations, with the contents unknown until the package is opened.
Adding to the collectible nature of the item, each nail polish comes with a small acrylic stand.
The stand features the corresponding Sanrio character holding an ice cream cone, allowing the ice cream-shaped bottle to be displayed as a decorative piece.
The six characters featured in the collection are My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Tuxedo Sam and Pochacco.
