Guts and Griffith Return in Massive New Berserk Statues Inspired by Kentaro Miura’s Iconic Artwork
Image by James RichardsonPrime 1 Studio has opened pre-orders for two enormous new Berserk statues that transform one of Kentaro Miura’s most memorable illustrations of Guts and Griffith into highly detailed 1/4 scale displays.
The new “Legacy Art ‘Kentaro Miura’ Berserk Guts 1/4 Scale” and matching Griffith statue revisit designs previously released at 1/6 scale, using their substantially larger proportions to push the sculpting and paintwork closer to Miura’s original artwork.

Berserk began serialization in 1989 and follows mercenary Guts through a brutal dark fantasy world shaped heavily by his relationship with Griffith, the charismatic leader of the Band of the Hawk whose ambitions ultimately change both of their lives.

Although the pair begin as comrades, their relationship becomes the central conflict running through much of the manga, making images that place Guts and Griffith directly alongside one another particularly important within Berserk’s wider artwork.
The illustration behind Prime 1 Studio’s latest statues was originally created by Miura in 2009 for a special alternate cover of Berserk Volume 34 included with Young Animal No. 19.

It depicts Guts and Griffith standing with their backs turned toward one another and swords in hand, using a restrained composition to emphasize the distance that now separates two characters who once pursued the same dream together.
Prime 1 Studio first adapted that artwork into three-dimensional form in 2023 when Guts and Griffith became the first releases in the “Legacy Art Kentaro Miura” collection at 1/6 scale.

The new versions retain those earlier poses but increase them to 1/4 scale, giving Prime 1 Studio additional space to refine the armor, weapons, clothing, bases and painted contrast throughout both displays.

Guts is sculpted in a low, almost animal-like stance while wearing the Berserker Armor, with the armor’s layered curves and etched surface details reproduced across the body.

His enormous Dragon Slayer is given a pale blue-gray blade covered with battle damage, while the sweeping cape preserves the dramatic presentation of Miura’s illustration.

The specially designed base beneath Guts is filled with swords and skulls, adding imagery connected to the constant violence and death surrounding his journey without moving away from the comparatively restrained pose of the original artwork.

The completed Guts statue stands approximately 74 cm tall, 79 cm wide and 54 cm deep, with the polystone display weighing around 20.08 kg.

Griffith takes the more upright half of the composition, standing approximately 93 cm tall with his long hair and cape flowing around armor decorated with feather motifs.

His slim sword features an ornate golden hilt, providing a sharp contrast with the far heavier Dragon Slayer carried by Guts and reinforcing the different visual identities Miura gave the two warriors.

Prime 1 Studio has also increased the detail across Griffith’s dedicated base, which incorporates numerous swords and pieces of armor beneath the figure.

The complete Griffith display measures approximately 93 cm tall, 62 cm wide and 35 cm deep and weighs around 14.9 kg.
Both statues will also receive limited Bonus Versions that add an interchangeable unhelmeted head, allowing Guts and Griffith to be displayed with their faces fully exposed rather than remaining locked to the helmeted presentation.

Prime 1 Studio’s decision to revisit the pair at 1/4 scale follows the continued expansion of its “Legacy Art Kentaro Miura” collection, which recently added an enormous statue of Nosferatu Zodd based directly on another of Miura’s illustrations.

That Zodd release recreates the Apostle standing over a battlefield filled with fallen soldiers, with the 1/4 scale statue reaching approximately 88 cm tall and expanding the Legacy Art series beyond Guts and Griffith themselves.
Prime 1 Studio has also recently opened orders for a new 1/4 scale Slan statue inspired by the God Hand member’s appearances during the Eclipse and in Qliphoth, with its limited DX Bonus Edition adding a rotating display platform.

Elsewhere in its Berserk range, the manufacturer has recreated Guts’ battle with Grunbeld as an enormous diorama measuring almost one meter deep, pairing the Berserker Armor with the Apostle’s transformed Fire Dragon form.

Pre-orders for the new 1/4 scale Guts and Griffith statues opened on October 6, 2026, with both releases currently scheduled to ship between February and May 2028.

Both statues are available directly to US collectors through Prime 1 Studio for $1,199 each, with the store-exclusive Bonus Versions limited to 500 pieces apiece and including an additional unhelmeted head.
