Sakamoto Days anime confirmed for second season at Jump Festa ’26

The television anime adaptation of Yuuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days is set to continue, with a second season officially announced during Saturday’s Jump Festa ’26 event.
Along with the confirmation of production, the panel revealed a new teaser trailer and key visual for the upcoming season.

Produced by TMS Entertainment, the series follows Taro Sakamoto, voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, a former legendary hitman who retires to manage a quiet convenience store life.
The anime’s first season premiered earlier this year on January 11 on TV Tokyo and Netflix, followed by a second part in July.

The main staff from the first season included director Masaki Watanabe, series scriptwriter Taku Kishimoto, and character designer Yō Moriyama.
The franchise is also expanding into live-action cinema next year.

A film adaptation directed and written by Yūichi Fukuda is scheduled to open in theaters on April 29.
The movie stars Snow Man member Ren Meguro as the titular character, with Fumiya Takahashi playing the role of Shin Asakura.

This announcement coincided with several other major reveals at Jump Festa ’26.
The event also saw TOHO announce a 10th Anniversary project and bonus episode for My Hero Academia, while Aniplex confirmed that Mashle: Magic and Muscles will return for a third season in 2027.

Toei Animation also gave fans a first glimpse at the upcoming “Reboot Project” for World Trigger, which will re-adapt the original manga from the beginning.
