Orders open as BANDAI re-releases exclusive transforming Gundam X model kit
A re-release has been announced for the Premium Bandai exclusive model kit of the Gundam Airmaster from the classic 1996 anime series After War Gundam X.
After War Gundam X is a fan-favorite, alternate-century entry in the long-running franchise.
The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world, fifteen years after a devastating war has wiped out most of humanity, and follows the journey of the young protagonist Garrod Ran and the various “Vulture” scavenger groups that roam the wasteland.
The Gundam Airmaster is one of the three main Gundam-type mobile suits from the show, which is discovered and piloted by the Vulture mercenary, Witz Sou, who eventually becomes a key ally to the main cast.
This High Grade (HG) 1/44 scale model kit is a modern recreation of the fan-favorite design.
The kit is designed with the wide range of motion and ease of assembly that is characteristic of the modern High Grade line.
A key feature of the model is its ability to transform into its jet-like “Fighter Mode,” just as it does in the anime.
Its signature armaments are also included, and the set comes with its buster rifle and its shoulder missiles.
This re-release offers fans of the classic 90s Gundam series a new opportunity to acquire the popular and exclusive kit.
The “HG 1/44 Gundam Airmaster” is priced at ¥2,090 (approx. $14 USD/£10 GBP) and pre-orders for this restock opened on the Premium Bandai website on Thursday, the 11th of September, 2025.
