Gundam Gives Char’s Iconic Red Z’Gok a Cozy Makeover for New Official Cushion Collection
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has transformed Char Aznable’s iconic Z’Gok from Mobile Suit Gundam into two cozy new cushions recreating the amphibious Mobile Suit’s head and clawed arm.
The “Mobile Suit Gundam CHAR’S Z’GOK Head Cushion” and “Mobile Suit Gundam CHAR’S Z’GOK Arm Cushion” adapt two of the machine’s most recognizable features into soft furnishings, with the arm version also doubling as a wearable prop.

Mobile Suit Gundam first aired in 1979 and introduced the One Year War between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon, alongside the long-running rivalry between Amuro Ray and Zeon ace Char Aznable.

Char pilots several signature red Mobile Suits throughout the original anime, including the customized MSM-07S Z’Gok used during Zeon’s attack on the Earth Federation headquarters at Jaburo.

The amphibious machine became particularly memorable thanks to its rounded silhouette, single mono-eye, and large three-pronged claws, all of which are directly referenced across Bandai’s new cushion pair.

The “Mobile Suit Gundam CHAR’S Z’GOK Head Cushion” recreates the upper section of Char’s red Z’Gok as a circular pillow measuring approximately 30 cm across and 13 cm tall.

Its design reproduces the machine’s domed head and central mono-eye, turning the compact upper section of the Mobile Suit into a functional cushion.

The “Mobile Suit Gundam CHAR’S Z’GOK Arm Cushion” takes a more interactive approach by recreating one of the Z’Gok’s cylindrical forearms and its three large claws.

Measuring approximately 18 cm in diameter and 46 cm long, the cushion includes an opening that allows you to slide your own arm inside and effectively wear the Z’Gok’s claw.

Bandai also suggests using it as a support cushion when resting your head on a desk, combining the novelty of a wearable Gundam prop with a more practical use.

Char’s Z’Gok has already featured in several other official releases during 2026, including the return of its ROBOT Spirits ver. A.N.I.M.E. figure alongside the mass-production Z’Gok, Acguy and Gogg.

The same Mobile Suit also appeared earlier this year in STRICT-G’s embroidered T-shirt collection, with its red color scheme featured alongside the RX-78-2 Gundam and Ramba Ral’s Gouf.

Char himself has remained particularly prominent across recent Gundam merchandise, with MegaHouse also announcing a re-release for its life-size “Full Scale Works Mobile Suit Gundam Char Aznable Stahlhelm” helmet replica in September.

In Japan, pre-orders for both cushions opened through Premium Bandai’s Bancolle! store on October 9 and are scheduled to remain available until January 31, 2027 at 11:00 PM (JST), with shipping planned for February 2027.

The “Mobile Suit Gundam CHAR’S Z’GOK Head Cushion” is priced at ¥7,700, while the “Mobile Suit Gundam CHAR’S Z’GOK Arm Cushion” costs ¥8,250.

Both cushions will also be available to fans in the US, with Premium Bandai US offering the Head Cushion for $65 and the Arm Cushion for $69.
US pre-orders opened on October 9 at 2:00 AM (EDT) and are scheduled to close on January 31, 2027, at 9:59 AM (EST), with both cushions expected to ship in March 2027.
