ONE PIECE’s Akainu Receives Two Massive New 1/6 Scale Statues From JIMEI PALACE

JIMEI PALACE has revealed a new pair of officially licensed ONE PIECE statues that celebrate one of the series’ most feared and controversial figures, Sakazuki, better known as Akainu.
The new 1/6 scale statue line showcases both major stages of Akainu’s Marine career, offering collectors the choice between his appearance as a Marine Admiral during the Marineford War and his later role as Fleet Admiral following the events of the time skip.

Within the world of ONE PIECE, Akainu is one of the most powerful members of the Marines and a firm believer in the doctrine of Absolute Justice.

Thanks to the power of the Logia-type Mag-Mag Fruit, he can transform his body into magma and unleash devastating attacks capable of overwhelming even some of the strongest pirates in the series.

Akainu played a central role during the Marineford conflict, where he inflicted severe injuries on Whitebeard and delivered the fatal blow to Portgas D. Ace, cementing his reputation as one of the franchise’s most ruthless antagonists.

Following the war, a disagreement over Marine leadership led to a legendary ten-day duel between Akainu and Aokiji on Punk Hazard.

The battle permanently altered the island’s landscape, leaving one half scorched by fire and the other frozen in ice, while Akainu ultimately emerged victorious and assumed the position of Fleet Admiral.

The new statue collection reflects both of these defining periods in Akainu’s career through distinct costume designs and character details.

The Admiral version recreates Akainu’s appearance during the Marineford Arc, featuring his iconic red suit and flowing Marine coat.

Special attention has been given to his stern facial likeness, which draws inspiration from Japanese actor Bunta Sugawara, while intricate sculpting captures the sharp folds of his clothing and the movement of his coat.

Additional details include realistic fabric textures, embroidered Justice kanji markings, and carefully reproduced Marine insignia found throughout the outfit.

One of the most eye-catching elements of the Admiral version is the massive magma effect engulfing Akainu’s right hand, sculpted to resemble molten rock and paired with swirling smoke effects that enhance the sense of destructive power.

The Fleet Admiral version presents Akainu after his promotion, dressed in a crisp white suit that immediately distinguishes it from the earlier design.

This version incorporates updated paint applications while retaining many of the character-defining details collectors would expect, including his chest tattoo and the MARINE lettering displayed on his cap.

The portrait has also been revised to show Akainu clenching a cigar between his teeth.

A prominent scar extending from his cheek down toward his neck has been added to reflect the injuries sustained during his brutal confrontation with Aokiji.

Across both versions, the statues stand approximately 46 cm tall and make extensive use of layered paint effects to emphasize the heat, smoke, and volcanic energy associated with Akainu’s abilities.

Collectors will also be able to choose between different editions depending on the level of display impact they prefer.

Both statues are available in Premium and Echo versions.

The upgraded Premium versions feature enhanced display bases with additional magma splatter effects flowing from beneath Akainu’s hand, creating a more explosive presentation.

Extra smoke effects are also included to increase the overall sense of motion and scale.

Both premium editions incorporate LED lighting systems with three selectable modes consisting of constant illumination, breathing effects, and flowing light patterns.

These lighting features extend through the magma-themed elements to create a far more dramatic display compared to the standard releases.

JIMEI PALACE plans to release all versions of the “ONE PIECE Legendary Marine Series AKAINU 1/6 Collectible Statue” during Q4 2026, with Standard and Resonance Editions priced at $315 USD (approx. £233 GBP) and Collector’s and Ultimate Editions priced at $375 USD (approx. £277 GBP).
