Bandai Reveals 2 New Gundam SEED DESTINY G-Frame FA Figures

Bandai has officially revealed two new G-Frame FA figures based on the Destiny Gundam, recreating both its original appearance and the updated SpecII used during the final battle of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM.

The Destiny Gundam was introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY as the advanced mobile suit piloted by Shinn Asuka, combining powerful close and long-range weapons with its recognizable Wings of Light effect.

Shinn later returned to the machine in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, piloting the upgraded Destiny Gundam Spec II during the movie’s final battle and putting its extreme speed and afterimage effects back at the center of some of his biggest action scenes.

G-Frame FA combines armor parts with an articulated internal frame, and both new releases stand approximately 11 cm tall while retaining the series’ emphasis on detailed sculpts and a wide range of posing options.

The standard Destiny Gundam recreates the machine from SEED DESTINY with its large rear weapon racks and a substantially larger selection of equipment than is normally included with a regular G-Frame FA release.

Its weapons include the Arondight Beam Sword, High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, Beam Boomerangs, Beam Shield and High-Energy Beam Rifle, alongside effect parts for the Palma Fiocina Beam Cannon mounted in its hands.

Additional hands are included for two-handed weapon poses, while the large Wings of Light effects are supplied with the figure rather than being separated into an optional parts set.

Bandai has also designed the release to work with the Strike Freedom Gundam from G-Frame FA 08 and its option parts, allowing collectors with both releases to recreate the memorable confrontation between Shinn and Kira from SEED DESTINY.

The Destiny Gundam Spec II [Final Battle Image Color] takes the same core design in a noticeably different direction, recreating the version seen during the climax of SEED FREEDOM.

Its coloring is based on the Destiny operating at maximum output in space, with the red joints reproduced using metallic red molded parts to give the figure a brighter appearance around its exposed frame sections.

The SpecII retains the Arondight Beam Sword, High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, Beam Boomerangs, Beam Shield, and Palma Fiocina effects shared with the original Destiny, but replaces the standard Beam Rifle with the Type 35 Modified Railgun used in SEED FREEDOM.

It also includes its own large Wings of Light effects, making it possible to recreate the glowing appearance of the mobile suit during the film’s final battle.

Bandai has even suggested the possibility of fans combining several Spec II figures and their included Wings of Light to recreate the scene where Destiny’s extreme speed produces multiple apparent copies of the mobile suit.

The “Mobile Suit Gundam G-Frame FA Destiny Gundam” and “Mobile Suit Gundam G-Frame FA Destiny Gundam Spec II [Final Battle Image Color]” are each priced at ¥6,545 (approx. $41 USD / £30 GBP), with pre-orders available exclusively through Premium Bandai Japan.

Both figures are scheduled to begin shipping in March 2027, and a Premium Bandai US release has not yet been confirmed for either figure at the time of writing.
