Legendary Final Fantasy Artist Yoshitaka Amano Reveals New ONE PIECE CARD GAME Card Designs

Legendary Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano is bringing his unmistakable illustration style to the ONE PIECE Card Game, with new cards featuring Loki and Saint Figarland Shamrock revealed during ONE PIECE DAY ’26.

The collaboration brings together One Piece with an artist whose work has helped define the look of Final Fantasy since the RPG series began, including character designs and concept artwork for its earliest games alongside the illustrated logos that have become a trademark of the franchise.

Amano’s flowing lines, elaborate fantasy imagery and watercolor-like use of color have remained closely associated with Final Fantasy even as its individual games have moved between completely different characters, worlds and visual styles.

His newly commissioned One Piece illustrations give both Loki and Shamrock a very different appearance from Eiichiro Oda’s manga artwork, translating two major figures from the ongoing Elbaph storyline through Amano’s own approach.

Both cards are being created for Booster Pack 18, with the collaboration giving two relatively recent One Piece characters the kind of guest-artist treatment normally reserved for some of the trading card game’s biggest collectible releases.

The Amano illustrations will also receive parallel versions featuring foil-stamped treatments, adding further collectible variants of both designs to the upcoming booster.

Their inclusion forms part of a much wider focus on the Elbaph storyline within Booster Pack 18, particularly the increasingly important Knights of God who have become central to recent developments in the manga.

Saint Figarland Shamrock is one of the leading figures within the Knights of God, while Loki’s complicated history and position as the prince of Elbaph have made him another major part of the island’s ongoing story.

Booster Pack 18 will combine those newer developments with a second major theme based around Water Seven, allowing the set to jump between one of One Piece’s most famous earlier arcs and characters currently appearing in the manga.

Franky is finally receiving his own Leader card as part of the Water Seven side of the set, giving one of the Straw Hats’ longest-serving members a long-awaited opportunity to headline a deck.

Nico Robin will receive one of Booster Pack 18’s biggest collectible cards through a new Super Parallel, commonly referred to as a Manga Parallel, placing her among the headline chase cards announced for the set.

The Knights of God are getting their own special treatment as well, with Bandai introducing a new Knights of God Super Parallel rarity and using Gunko for the first revealed example.

Gunko will additionally make her debut as a Leader card, giving the relatively new manga character a significant presence within the trading card game almost immediately.

Booster Pack 18 is currently scheduled to arrive in Japan during November 2026, with considerably more of its card list still to be revealed before release.

The OP-18 announcements followed another major ONE PIECE Card Game reveal during the event, with Bandai showing the first substantial selection of cards from “ONE PIECE Heroines Edition vol.2”.

The second Heroines Extra Booster once again places the women of One Piece at the center of the set, following the original Heroines Edition and arriving during the same year as the ONE PIECE HEROINES anime special based on the light novel series.

The newly revealed selection includes Nefertari Vivi, Nami, Shirahoshi, Boa Hancock, Rebecca, Nico Robin and Jewelry Bonney, pulling together characters from numerous eras and locations across the series.

Nami and Robin were among the biggest attractions of the reveal, with both appearing as part of a new selection of Heroines Special cards featuring artwork designed around the character-focused nature of the Extra Booster.

Robin will also receive a new Leader card, adding a gameplay-focused version of the Straw Hat archaeologist alongside the alternate artwork aimed more directly at collectors.

Vivi returns after being the only new Leader introduced by the original Heroines Edition, while Hancock, Shirahoshi, Rebecca and Bonney broaden the lineup beyond the Straw Hat crew with representatives from Amazon Lily, Fish-Man Island, Dressrosa and the Worst Generation.

Bandai has yet to reveal the complete EB-05 card list, meaning the seven characters shown during ONE PIECE DAY represent only part of the final set.

ONE PIECE Heroines Edition vol.2 is scheduled to launch in Japan on October 31, 2026, while the English release is planned for October with an MSRP of $4.99 per booster pack.

The Card Game presentation was just one part of a packed ONE PIECE DAY ’26, with several other major announcements made across the franchise during the two-day event.

Nike unveiled a global One Piece collection built around three heavily redesigned Air Max Plus sneakers inspired by the Gomu Gomu, Ope Ope and Mera Mera Devil Fruits, accompanied by coordinated jerseys, caps, T-shirts and a vest.

Two new theatrical movies were announced as well, starting with ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY in summer 2027 as part of celebrations surrounding the manga’s 30th anniversary.

The movie will bring the legendary God Valley Incident to theaters after recent manga chapters dramatically expanded the story surrounding the Rocks Pirates, Gol D. Roger and a younger Monkey D. Garp.

ONE PIECE FILM BAAD will follow in 2029 as part of celebrations for the television anime’s 30th anniversary, although little beyond its title, release year and an image drawn by Eiichiro Oda has been revealed so far.

Netflix also announced four additions to the cast of its live-action One Piece Season 3, with Emilio Sakraya playing Koza, Omid Abtahi taking the role of Toto, Jamie Ward appearing as Pell and Nabeel Khan portraying Chaka.

Officially titled “One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta,” the third season will continue the Straw Hats’ journey with Vivi when the series returns in 2027.

The second WORLD TOP 100 global character poll concluded during the event as well, with Monkey D. Luffy taking first place ahead of Roronoa Zoro, Sanji, Nami and Trafalgar Law.

Those results will lead to several new projects beginning in 2027, including special outfits drawn by Oda for the top 30 characters, new ONE PIECE Card Game cards for the top 50 and TV anime eyecatches featuring the top 15.

WIT Studio’s THE ONE PIECE remake is also approaching during the same period, with the new adaptation returning to the beginning of Luffy’s adventure and currently scheduled to debut worldwide on Netflix in February 2027.
