Netflix’s ONE PIECE Anime Remake Sets February 2027 Release Date

The release date has officially been confirmed for the upcoming anime remake project THE ONE PIECE, with Netflix announcing a February 2027 premiere.
All seven episodes of this new adaptation will drop simultaneously upon release.

Covering the early events of the East Blue saga up to the introduction of Sanji, the initial batch of episodes adds up to a total runtime of approximately 300 minutes while spanning roughly 50 chapters of Eiichiro Oda’s original manga.

Operating as a completely separate production from the currently broadcasting television series, this ambitious joint project between Netflix, WIT Studio, and Toei Animation aims to completely re-animate the foundational story from the very beginning.
Netflix stated the remake will deliver a fresh yet familiar experience, utilizing cutting-edge visual technology to reimagine Luffy’s early adventures.

To accompany the premiere announcement, new concept art for the first episode was revealed, showcasing a young Luffy standing next to Shanks alongside the text “The adventure starts here.”

An earlier update on April 7 provided a close look at the updated modern character illustrations for Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, and Shanks.

The previous promotional video also featured several beautiful image boards showcasing memorable scenes and locations from the classic East Blue storyline.

The new adaptation is being directed by Masashi Koizuka at WIT Studio, a renowned production company famous for its work on massive hits like SPY x FAMILY and Attack on Titan.

Hideaki Abe serves as the assistant director, with Taku Kishimoto handling the series composition, alongside Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda drawing the character designs.
First announced in December 2023 at Jump Festa ’24, further details regarding the highly anticipated project were later revealed at ONE PIECE DAY ’24.
The series will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
