Pokémon Pokopia's First Ever Real-World Event Brings Bubbly Basin to Life

The Pokémon Company is bringing Pokémon Pokopia into the real world for the first time, with a brand-new interactive event celebrating the launch of the game’s latest expansion.

Pokémon Pokopia is a relaxing Nintendo Switch 2 title that lets you create habitats by arranging different types of terrain, encouraging Pokémon to move in and gradually building your own peaceful town filled with familiar faces from across the franchise.

The event celebrates the release of the first Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, which introduced the new Bubbly Basin area on August 5, expanding the game with an underwater town that can be explored using the Dive ability, along with new Pokémon, themed furniture, and additional customization options including fresh Ditto outfits.

Running at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse from August 6, the event recreates the atmosphere of Bubbly Basin and gives fans the chance to experience several of Pokémon Pokopia’s gameplay ideas away from the console for the very first time.

Ahead of the public opening, a special media event officially opened the Pokémon Pokopia Area Gate, which had already attracted attention across social media after unexpectedly appearing outside Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse.

Totodile, Mudkip, and Popplio, three of the Pokémon newly introduced in Bubbly Basin, also made special appearances during the opening ceremony before joining fans in celebrating the launch of the new area.

One of the event’s biggest attractions is a real-life version of Pokémon Pokopia’s habitat-building mechanic, where visitors combine different environmental blocks to create habitats and discover which Pokémon appear as a result.

The centerpiece of the venue is the Deep Sea Glow Photo Spot, a dome-shaped underwater display where guests can pose for photos surrounded by the ocean-inspired scenery of Bubbly Basin.

Using a camera flash reveals hidden appearances from Chinchou, Lanturn, Frillish (Male Form), and Frillish (Female Form), creating a unique photo effect that mirrors the mysterious atmosphere of the underwater expansion.

Visitors can also walk through the impressive Pokémon Pokopia Area Gate and explore the themed venue, bringing the colorful world of the game to life beyond the screen.

Admission to the event is free, although timed entry tickets are required for the Pokémon Pokopia Area Gate, the habitat-building experience, and the Deep Sea Glow Photo Spot, with reservations distributed via the mogily LINE app using QR codes available near the venue each morning.

The Real Pokémon Pokopia Experience! Bubbly Basin at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse runs from August 6 through August 9, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with approximately 20 minutes required to complete the experience.
