Dragon Ball Z Officially Returns to the Cell Saga for New Vegeta and Trunks S.H.Figuarts Figures
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has revealed two new Dragon Ball Z S.H.Figuarts releases based on Trunks and Vegeta, with both figures designed around their appearances during the Android and Cell Saga.
The pair of figures are set to join the wider “Z Fighters” collection that allows fans to recreate the familiar group shot from the Dragon Ball Z anime opening when several releases are displayed together.
The Android and Cell Saga marks one of Dragon Ball Z’s biggest shifts in direction, beginning with Future Trunks’ arrival from a devastated timeline to warn Goku and the others about the impending appearance of deadly Androids.
The conflict eventually expands to include Cell, a bio-engineered enemy created using the cells of some of the world’s strongest fighters, whose pursuit of his Perfect Form places the entire group under an increasingly serious threat.
Trunks and Vegeta both become central to this section of the story, with their complicated father-and-son relationship developing alongside their training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and battles against Cell and the Androids.
The “S.H.Figuarts Trunks
The approximately 14 cm figure is designed to reproduce both Trunks’ relaxed appearance and more action-focused scenes from this period of Dragon Ball Z.
Two different sets of thigh parts are included, allowing him to be displayed either standing with his hands inside his pockets or with conventional leg pieces fitted for combat poses.
Two alternate head parts recreate his hair blowing in the wind, complementing the more relaxed pocket pose and providing additional display options beyond the standard hairstyle.
Four interchangeable expressions are included alongside six pairs of replacement hands, giving the figure a considerable selection of combinations for recreating different moments from the anime.
Trunks’ sword and sheath are also included, allowing him to be displayed armed despite the figure focusing on his later tank top appearance.
The head and facial parts are compatible with the separately sold “Super Saiyan Trunks – The Boy from the Future -” S.H.Figuarts, allowing collectors who own both releases to swap elements between the two figures.
The first production run receives an additional bonus in the form of “Z Fighters Gathering Base B,” one section of a much larger display intended to recreate the group composition from the Dragon Ball Z opening.
Base B can be combined with Gathering Bases A and C included with other separately sold Z Fighters releases, eventually creating a single large display for the characters.
The “S.H.Figuarts Vegeta
This period sees Vegeta firmly established among Earth’s defenders while retaining the pride and rivalry that frequently lead him to pursue his own path, including his obsessive drive to surpass Goku and test himself against increasingly powerful opponents.
Bandai has paid particular attention to his proportions, hair volume, and expressions as they appeared in the anime, while also incorporating updated articulation developed from recent Dragon Ball S.H.Figuarts releases.
The approximately 13.5 cm figure includes Bandai’s patent-pending Dynamic-Movable Shoulder System, increasing movement around the upper body while preserving Vegeta’s overall proportions.
That added flexibility helps support recognizable attack poses such as his Galick Gun stance, with the necessary shouting expression and interchangeable hands included.
Three replacement expressions are provided in total, covering a sideways glance, shouting face, and gritted-teeth expression.
An additional wind-swept hair piece is also included, giving Vegeta an alternate head option similar to the one supplied with Trunks.
One of the most important accessories is a dedicated set of crossed-arm parts, which combines with the sideways-looking expression to recreate Vegeta’s pose from the Dragon Ball Z opening sequence.
Four pairs of interchangeable hands and replacement ankle parts expand the posing options further, allowing the figure to move between the opening-inspired stance and more conventional battle poses.
The new Vegeta is also designed to display alongside the other S.H.Figuarts Z Fighters releases, making both figures especially important additions for collectors gradually assembling the full group and its combined opening display.
Pre-orders for both figures will begin on September 1 through general hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan, with Trunks scheduled for release in March 2027 and Vegeta following in April 2027.
Fans in the US may also see both figures offered through Bandai’s official Premium Bandai US retail channel once pre-orders officially open.
