New Resident Evil anniversary art unites classic heroes with the series’ latest protagonist

Capcom has officially begun the 30th anniversary celebrations for its legendary Resident Evil franchise, known in Japan as Biohazard.
A special commemorative website has been launched, and two new 30th-anniversary logos, as well as a new key visual artwork, have been revealed.

The original Resident Evil was first released for the PlayStation on the 22nd of March, 1996.
The game was a landmark title that defined the survival horror genre, and the franchise has since evolved to include a wide range of games, from pure horror to more action-oriented titles.

The new, commemorative key artwork brings together a large cast of the series’ most iconic and beloved protagonists from its long history.
The illustration features classic heroes such as Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Ada Wong.

Significantly, the artwork also prominently features a new character, Grace Ashcroft.

Grace is the new protagonist of the upcoming next major installment in the series, Resident Evil Requiem, and is the daughter of a character from the spin-off title, Resident Evil Outbreak.

Her inclusion in the anniversary art visually unites the legacy of the franchise with its future.

The new 30th anniversary logos have also been revealed to the public, and the special website is now officially live.

The actual 30th anniversary of the series will take place next year, whilst the new game, Resident Evil Requiem, is scheduled to be released on the 27th of February, 2026.
