Square Enix Unveils New Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Merchandise

Square Enix has officially announced a new line of celebratory merchandise to honor the upcoming 40th anniversary of the legendary Dragon Quest franchise.
The new “Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary” merchandise range features a variety of heavyweight metallic figures and soft plush toys inspired by the genre-defining role-playing series.

Since its initial launch on the Famicom in 1986, this seminal property has essentially laid the blueprint for console role-playing adventures in Japan.
Created by visionary designer Yuji Horii, the series captivated audiences by combining accessible turn-based combat with sprawling, immersive fantasy worlds.

A major factor in its enduring charm is the incredibly iconic monster and character artwork originally penned by the late, legendary manga artist Akira Toriyama.
Generations of players have spent countless hours exploring massive continents, delving into dangerous dungeons, and battling memorable foes to save the realm from looming darkness.

The games often revolve around a chosen hero, destined to wield a legendary blade and banish terrifying demon lords to restore peace to the land.
To commemorate four decades of this historic legacy, fans can now collect heavy die-cast metal statues finished in a gorgeous antique gold color.

This special coating gives the monsters and legendary armaments a historical, weighty presence perfect for displaying on a collector’s shelf.
Soft plush toys are also available in the lineup, sporting special embroidered commemorative logos to mark the massive milestone.
