NEOWIZ unveils gameplay trailer for “Lies of P: Overture” and confirms addition of difficulty levels

NEOWIZ, the South Korean game developer and publisher, has released the first official gameplay video for “Overture”, the upcoming DLC for their critically acclaimed Souls-like action game, Lies of P.
The DLC is planned for release in Summer 2025 and will be priced at 3,400 yen.
In addition to the DLC preview, NEOWIZ also confirmed that the main story of Lies of P will receive significant updates, introducing difficulty selection and two types of content allowing players to rematch bosses.

Lies of P, released in September 2023, is a grimly enchanting action RPG available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Inspired by the classic tale of Pinocchio, the game casts players as P, a mechanical puppet who must navigate the Belle Époque-inspired city of Krat which has been ravaged by violent puppets.

The game garnered widespread praise for its intricate world design, challenging combat mechanics reminiscent of FromSoftware’s Souls series and Bloodborne as well as the unique “Lie” system that impacts the story’s outcome.

The newly released gameplay video for “Lies of P: Overture” offers a glimpse into the new content.
The footage begins in a sprawling, desolate snowy field, hinting at expansive new environments.

It then transitions into a fierce battle scene unfolding within the “Krat Zoo,” suggesting that players will encounter transformed or new threats in familiar, yet corrupted, locations.
Accompanying the gameplay video, NEOWIZ unveiled three new screenshots: one showcasing a formidable new boss, the “Anguished Guardian of the Ruins” and two revealing fresh backgrounds titled “Carnival” and “Z” further hinting at the varied settings within the DLC.

Additionally, art pictures of new characters, “Veronique”, “Klaus and Spring” and “Alidoro” were also released.
Equally significant for the existing player base is the announcement regarding updates to the main Lies of P game.

NEOWIZ confirmed that players will soon have the option to choose difficulty levels, a feature often requested in Souls-like games to make them more accessible to a wider audience or to provide an even greater challenge.
Two distinct types of boss rematch content will be added, allowing players to re-engage with formidable adversaries.
This new rematch feature will also include bosses introduced in the “Overture” DLC, providing additional replayability and opportunities to hone combat skills against the game’s toughest encounters.
The “Overture” DLC and the upcoming main game updates are part of NEOWIZ’s continued commitment to expanding and refining the Lies of P experience, offering new challenges, narrative elements, and accessibility options for both veteran players and newcomers to the grim world of Krat.
